Just like when step daddy rents a tractor, it says operated by United Parcel Service. And the reason is right in front of your eyes. Is that Penske, Ryder or Budget a UPS company truck or color? No. Does it have the appropriate DOT#s? No. Thats the answer.Familyman said:Why does the door stickers say operated by UPS Freight??

All the decals that they put over the OVNT logo has the same ICC numbers on them.hilo@342 said:i think at the beginning of the year, all the trucks were probably licensed in OVNT name. If you completely change the name, you would probably have to relicense all of your trucks

or by an independant leasing company.
In overnite's case the trucks were operated by "O" but were owned by "O" nite withholdings. which is the mother company for "O"NITE TRANS. This is nothing more than a tax shelter, if you own but rent to yourself you get 100% of your profit back , under a seperate company, and you can put the lease on your P\L Statement at the end of the year on both companies.
If you rented from RYDR. PNSKE, etc. etc. then you have a loss you cannot recover from. Even though you pay out to a leasing company, and you can also put it on your P\L you will never recover monies from 2 entaties as 1 company.
