Ladies and Gentlemen,
CT is the most unorthodox LTL company out there. This does not make them bad, this does not make them good, with CT, it is what it is. With Central Transport, expect the unexpected, embrace it, and you will be fine. I have had the fortune of working for both carriers. Vitran once had the world by the "balls", solid financials, operating in a rock solid LTL area, the upper midwest. Unfortunately, GAETZ, took that for granted, and destroyed the truck-line, by never reinvesting during the good times. In the last month many of my friends that chose to hang on and have lost their jobs. This is not the fault of CT, but the fault of the millionaire that resides north of the border after running Vitran into the ground. As I have posted many times in the past, Vitran in the only NON UNION company, that is publicly traded to go out of business.
In 10 short years, the dominant carriers will be FXF, Conway, ODFL, and Saia. In my opinion, the privately held carriers, CT, Estes, and, R&L, will be on the outside looking in, because of their lack of commitment to the hourly work force. The union carriers will be gone because of their inability to compete, because of the union contracts. The regional privately held carriers will grow, SEFL, AAC, Wilson, and, Averitt. Enough with my predictions....WAR EAGLE. Go Auburn.
