I learned on a B Model. It had been converted to a straight truck, from a concrete mixer. 5 speed, with a 3 speed brownie. (A tri-plex)

Those old longnose Road Boss's were a good truck, rode a little rough with the rubber block suspension until you got some weight on them. They had the Bostrum hydraulic seat in them, far superior to any air seat in my opinion.

As much as I might have fantasized about a career and name reflecting the latter, I realized I lacked the necessary qualifications and so had to settle for a name relating to my early 5 by 3 experiences.

Absolutely true as long as one is open to learning. That's the catch.

Funny not so young as I'm mid "60's so yes I have driven them without power steering.Between my 2 uncle's and dad we/they had 2 B-67 and a B-63 673's and a duplex in all of them. everybody stay safe

I was never ever left on the side of the road driving a B model.
