For one, UPS is a better company than YRC with a better compensation package for drivers. As far as the best job, depends on what you think is best. I'll take my safety and job conditions over higher pay. Which is why I turned down UPS after working there as a seasonal driver and quit YRC after things went south and looked to only get worse. My feeling is it is better working at the same time everyday, than being on call at a hotel and expected to come in and drive 500 miles about the time you are getting sleepy, also with YRC they call you in and you sit another hour or two because the load isn't ready and you have to stay awake that much longer. Might be legal under the FMCSA but somehow driving after being awake 30 hours just doesn't seem safe to me. I refused to drive more than once but most guys won't because of the way the supervisors act when you do.
