Oh come on now, the real reason Fred holds that airline classification so near and dear is that it makes going union more difficult for the employees.

Not to mention, the flight crew is union.

Pull your head out. Yes the flight crews are union. Fred got union pilots when he got Flying Tigers. Being classified as an airline puts the company under the Railroad Act which does make it much harder to organize the company.
