The place to start is with the local union official that received the written reports each week.
Has anyone ever seen one?
Aw, come on. You know it's so much easier to bit*h and moan here on TB than to actually do the legwork involved to track the situation..
And we pay the union to do what?
Shouldn't we help our own cause by observing, questioning, recording, and reporting? There are many more of us than there are Union oficials.
By observation the road men are getting screwed. I'm surprised there is no sign in-out sheets for the PTS. The magnitude of PTS use in Dallas is unbelievable. I'm open to help but the hall needs to take the lead on this. Someone said at 309 the PTS sheets are open to see sounds like a something all terminals should be required to do.

YOU are the union! Just as easy for you to write a grievance as anybody.
If the info on PTS goes to the hall and is not available for the rank & file to see exactly what do you file a grievance on.
Individual grievances are filed every day. The strange part is one would think a grievance would change behavior but the company has a pocket full of our money to pay them with (15% & pension contributions) and that's how they conduct business now. Just think if they weren't so arrogant and stupid or both we could make a profit. Be interesting to know how much they pay out in grievances nationwide I know in Dallas it is a lot of money
Bart, There are sign in and sign out sheets at 511 for PTS.In the dispatch office.I just got back from delivering 2 841 destined trailers to BNSF.I know a team at 511 that was waiting to go out for work.starting at noon on Sunday. They didn't get out til wednesday night of this week.WTH.The company in the meanwhile ran out PTS.By observation the road men are getting screwed. Sign in and out sheets are a waste of paper.
Only the honest drivers use them.
Sorry but YRC didn't send the reports to me they send them to the local union.
“YRC shall report in writing on a monthly basis to each Local Union affected and to the Freight Division, the number of trailers tendered to any purchased transportation provider. YRC Freight also shall report the carrier’s name (including DOT number), origin, destination, trailer/load number, trailer weight and the time the trailer/load leaves YRC Freight's yard. In addition, YRC Freight shall, on a quarterly basis, unless otherwise required, send to the office of the National Freight Director a report containing all of the above indicated information in addition to the total number of miles YRC Freight utilized with purchased transportation, inclusive of the type of PTS utilized, including whether the purpose was for avoiding empty miles, overflow or one-time business opportunities such as product launches.”

The dispatch recaps for PTS are from the union. They are compiled by the IBT and distributed by the affected Locals.
