Most people aren't fond of inflation. Negotiating wage increases for up to 4 years in the future is stupid. If it worked like that with all workers in the USA it isn't hard to figure out what inflation would be like. I've always felt that unions should just negotiate for wages based entirely on cost of living increases, adjusted every 6 months, keep up with inflation, don't cause it.

Most Americans detest strikes or anything that may inconvenience them.

Union's are not helping their brand with the 32 hour work week stuff. People stop listening after they here that. We are old school Dodge people. All the new stuff sucks no matter who makes it.
Well,it seems to me that's only 'fair'!!!!...We send them our good Union jobs,and they send us their 'tired',their 'poor',their 'huddled masses yearning to breathe free' by emptying out their prisons,their mental institutions,their drug cartel running fentanyl donkeys by the hundreds of thousands,''millions'' by some estimates,readying themselves for the ''America Dream''!!!!...When they get to the border,free bus ticket to anywhere in the country with absolutely NO documentation,when they reach their destination,free phone,free money card,free hotel accommodations,free healthcare,free education,free housing with NO strings attached!!!!...but it's those 'pesky' Unions that are the problem!!!!...Won't have to worry about Unions anymore because ''Boss Man'' will be coming to a city or town near you....

Unions in America are supporting massive illegal immigration, the original NAFTA, trade agreements, No Bail laws & any culture rot that can be thought of.
In 2020 union handed over $1.6 BILLION to democrats so they could generate the world we have today in America.
So when jobs migrate to Mexico while Mexicans ( and millions others) migrate into American for freebies, blame America's unions!

The battle over Unions ignores a fundamental issue,wages have NOT kept pace with real world 'inflation' for over 50 years...Wage disparity is THE most relevant contention between C-suite and labor...Many on here do not support Unions,but they do serve a much valid purpose...Most Americans are to brainwashed to realize they've been 'conned' their entire lives...Fiat money creates debt and inflation,not prosperity.No matter how hard you worked,how many hours you worked,how many jobs you held,just always trying to stay ahead of the game,and we've always lived 'within our means' from the GET-GO!!!!

Wages in the US have outpaced inflation in the last few years.
Minimum wage today vs. 85 years ago and CPI today vs. 85 years ago shows that too has kept up with average inflation over that past 85 years.

I agree that Unions did serve a much valid purpose. However, their usefulness is now gone. They put those employers at a competitive disadvantage and all of us consumers pay the price when those artificially high compensation packages are passed on to us.
I don't give two ***** about the difference between C-Suite and labor pay rates because the jobs aren't the same and neither is the size of the qualified pool of applicants. The truck driver makes more than a fast food worker because there are far fewer folks able and willing to drive a truck for a living. If neurosurgeons were a dime a dozen they wouldn't make what they make.
