Here's an example of city driver wages presently being paid in Ohio under the YRC Mou (3-31-2015 to 3-31-2019)...

Wages
$22.19 per hour
$887.60 per 40 hour week
$46,155.20 per year

Health & Welfare (Central States H&W TeamCare)
$401.13 per week
$20,858.76 per year

Pension (Central States Pension Class 18)
$106.55 per week
$5540.60 per year

Total Compensation
$72,554.56 per year
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's an example of city driver wages presently being paid in Ohio under the ABF NMFA Central Region Local Cartage Agreement (4-1-2018 to 6-30-2023)...

Wages
$25.0942 per hour
$1003.77 per week
$52,196.04 per year

Health & Welfare (Central States H&W TeamCare)
$401.13 per week
$20,858.76 per year

Pension (Central States Pension Class 18)
$342.00 per week
$17,784.00 per year

Total Compensation $90,838.80 per year
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember that these figures are based on a flat 40 hours a week and do not include difference in vacations, etc. Also wages and fringe benefit contribution rates are different across the country under different supplemental agreements and riders with locals and their benefit plans.

Total Compensation Difference Between YRC companies and ABF Freight is $18,284.24 a year or about 20% higher at ABF Freight. This could vary across the country depending on their current wages & benefits.

This is what Ernie and the negotiating team are up against at the bargaining table when members want to "be brought up to scale"!

To bring YRC 'up to scale' would require a 23% plus raise in pay/benefits.
Simply stated, it's not going to happen. YRC is still not profitable enough to keep the fleet in good condition.
The market cap for the company has sunk by 1/3 over the past months. With rising interest rates, it only looks worse.

My guess is nothing changes, both the union & company claim victory. Then by the time most go to collect their pension, the union folks who negotiated this will be long gone and collecting multiple pension checks for themselves......

Well they had NO problem taking us DOWN below ABF pay scale and so shouldn't be a problem to bring us back up to ABF pay scale right ?? :cuss:

The best advice is this fight the good fight, that means fight for everything. In the meantime protect yourself. Look for other work see what’s out there and keep yourself informed on what’s going on in the contract. So many people are clueless

All at once? Not gonna happen.
A little at a time? 2% a year (Just an example folks numbers can be ajusted)? Possible.
Again, Give & take. But the Union has to understand that us lowly rank & file have had 10 years of this and are in no mood for any B.S.!
Again, If the banks wanna keep sucking interest out of the YRC cash cow then share the wealth!

Thanks for putting that up there. Although I'm not shedding a tear for poor Ernie and the negotiating team. This is supposedly what they are being paid for.

IF the pigs don't fly, guessing the Locks will be flying on the gates then , as the -15% A.T.M. machine closes on March 31st 2019 at Midnight :guiness:

The good news is the Banks (YRC debt holders) still run YRC. YRC debt and liabilities are too high to be covered by their assets, never mind the interest (the profit from the loans...why the money men loan money: to make money). Is everyone still with me?
This means that bankruptcy is out of the equation. The money men would not even be able to cover their principle.
So, what to do? Keep payroll down...that cow gives pure cream.
If we all understood this concept than we wouldn't be afraid to talk about...
You are all over leveraged. House payment, 2 car payments. Living above your means. Its ironic that you would benefit the most from a beneficial contract and this time the money men will have to wait for their money instead of us being paid (and treated) like third class citizens.
The first offer (along with the 'take it or bankruptcy' letter coming in the mail) must be turned down, along with the second.
How about it? Can we start talking about the possibility of a strike?

Agreed, what ppl dont understand is yrc a publicly traded company cant go bankrupt, they can use it as a scare tactic, but how do you explain to your shareholders we are going to close a company due to a posting match over a contract? There is no one that wants a contract more than the 10 top ppl at YRC to preserve their multi million dollar salaries. Now what really threw a monkey wrench into the plan was NEMF closing at this time. $400 million in freight is out there which NEW PENN is swamped with. They aborted lay offs, aborted closing Rochester & Milton, they penjellum has swung giving rank & file leverage. The extension is bs they knew for years 03/31/2019 was coming. The only way to make your voice carry impact is to reject all and make them dig deep.

Where on earth did you come up with the idea that a publicly traded company can't go bankrupt? Whatever you're drinking, share it with all of us!

Well if the management in KC made better decisions with our $ the company would be a lot healthier and competitive. For some reason these douches are not being held accountable for where are money went. The union should have demanded a transaction log every 90 days after the first 5 years of concessions. FULL RATE OR LOCK THE GATE!!

That 342 a week or even that 106.55 sure would look good in a 401k! The government is not coming to our rescue on the pension and the numbers don't lie it is going to run out of money in less than ten years....just shoot the lame horse and move on!

New Penn got a piece of the $400 million just like about 20 other LTL carriers in that area did.
