I've been working at New Century Transportation for about 3 years and now we are hearing all kind of rumors about selling or closing down. Anybody have any idea what is going on? There's been layoffs within the shops and techs are jumping ship 1 or 2 a week. Thanks fellas

definately sucks to be in that type of enviroment---so much uncertainty...seems to be the singns of the times...best advise i give is worry about your self and your family first...there is no more loyalty!

Definitely been some changes, even in my first several months.Seems the owner and some employees, past and present, have a love-hate relationship for some reason. However,I dont see a company on the brink buying new trucks and offering sign-on bonuses. As ive said in the past, its not a perfect job,but in trucking, their no such thing anyway.

Not trying to stir the pot or get anyone going, but Jevic bought/leased a bunch of new trucks about two or three weeks before those FedEx envelopes went out.....

Unfortunately company spending money isn't an indicator.Besides bringing in new trucks before closing Jevic, day before they closed, power wash in yard washing trailers and local trucks.lol I am sure auction company appreciated it.Dave G. and associates :fingure: had no problem screwing vendors right up til the end.

Should we start Wonderwoman with the fact that not having any pay increase in three years and a pay cut . A lot of people feel this was just to put the Company Jevic out of the playing field . I work for Duie now ! Yes !!! we just got a pay increase and we get overtime . I can just say soon all the NCT will get what they have coming .. Starting for the top down , They have become a cheap company paying the drivers put all the big heads are making the big bucks. The drivers that stay there are just losers ...H is leaving soon then whats going to happen ? I know Mike M and Jerry S will take care of you i don't think so Jerry thinks you guys are over payed already .. Take care suckers get what is coming..PS check the Bloom-berg report with the top guys out see what they make .. Over $400.000 nice

Nice first post.Just remember you're a visitor in this forum.Spread all the love you want in the Pyle forum or the Jevic forum but if you think you're gonna come into this forum and bash employees of this company, you are mistaken.BTW,congrats on your pay increase.

I know you don't like former employee's or ex-jevic and pyle people to post on here, but it seems like if others didn't post on hear, the NC fourm would be like the Cowan fourm,

I actually have no problem with anyone posting in this forum. However,if you only come here to flame this company and/or employees, its gonna stop.If you have reliable info, feel free to post. But if youre posting something you heard from a friend of a friend, whose 3rd cousin(that works here) told him..Keep the :shit: to yourself...I,d rather have a forum like Cowan or others, than to have a bunch of negative innuendos and rumors posted by former and non-employees.Hope this clears it up for ya.

I've been here 3 1/2 years and I have no reason to leave or look anywhere else. For now. I really don't have any major complaints that I haven't had at other companies. I was here before the paycut so I'm at the old top rate of 49.4 cpm. (was .52) And with over 12 years experience I started at the top rate.

So where else am I going to go and make over $65k my first year?

No raise since I've been hired? At least I avoided a layoff and still make more than any other job I've had.

No new trucks yet? I've driven worse and they will be replaced eventually.

Harry selling the company and retiring? Good on him. He deserves a happy, comfortable retirement. He owes me nothing.

You want a better company? Go start one of your own. Like he did. Twice.

my question is regarding NCTY going public......i do understand doing so could raise cash.....but, they would lose control of the company. We all know when you have a board of directors they now control your destiny...i guess this is a good retirement move for harry.

Considering the present economic situation in the country, an IPO is very doubtful.Jeffries Capital already has members on board. The question is how long will they be willing to accept annual loss' before they take total control of company or demand sale.

My sentiments exactly, wavking.Sense of entitlements go further than food stamps, medicare, etc.I doubt anyone ever signed a contract to work here and youre free to leave at your liking. There are plenty of other trucking companies out there if its not for you.Hell, ive did that twice in the last two years for multiple reasons. If this one gets unbearable,im out of here too.
As long as I make a decent living,I can put up with alot.Sounds like Jevic was a helluva company to work for, maybe some drivers got spoiled.
