Connecticut Teamsters won their election today............72 Yes 49 No
Not to underscore this for the pro crowd.... but this doesn't really effect us as much, far more interested in what those drivers in Aurora do.
Yeah, because Chicagoland could take off like a wildfire.
Aurora won their election
Which side won?
Union won 38-33
That's a hell of a turnout. 71 of 72 drivers.
Haven't seen any news release on either of these votes yet. Not that I don't trust random strangers on the internet but, it would be nice to see something wrote up about the results.
It's also on the Teamsters Twitter page.
Sure is. I don't have the Facebook. I'm sure there is plenty all over that as well.
Awesome! Let's see what happens next! If they get a decent contract.. welp.. We'll all be union!
That's the trick. Jacobs is extraordinarily anti union. Will you ever see a contract ? How long has it been and none of the other terminals that voted when we were still Con-way have contracts ?
While I understand and respect what these people are doing, I feel it's a wasted effort. These big corporations would rather pay whatever penalty than concede to the union.
With the way things are going I would not be surprised to see several more union votes very soon. Let's see if it generates a reaction or response before we jump to conclusions.
You need the big barn to go first. The end of the line and small barns have to watch there step he can always just close them
That's not true. Once they vote to go union the NLRB makes that almost impossible to do. The union would claim it as a threat of being fired.
That would be an unfair labor charge with the NLRB.
The NLRB is out gunned by these companies bottomless pockets and fancy lawyers.
I don't know about that. We'd need another ten line haul runs a night to cover what gets picked through. And the peddles would get kinda line haul-ish themselves.
PYX they closed
PYX Penn Yan is who they closed down
They cant close a terminal for at least one year after the vote, they can try to run freight around it, etc Half of XPO is already Union.
