I like it.Start drilling in our own country..It doesn't get any simpler than that..You could also eliminate the golden parachutes all these CEO's walk away with after desimating a company and thousands of lives,and structure they're yearly compensation in accordance with the company's annual stock return.Those are just a quick two off the top of my head..
My point was not to bash anyone. I just don't fall into the Democratic excuse machine. Is anyone on here really going to tell me that they did not know gas was going to get high this summer. That's been the trend for the last 8 years. No reason in thinking this year would be any different. I've got 5 kids myself now, and a hybrid doesn't quite fit us all. This summer I will be shopping for a 12 passenger van since we have outgrown our mini-van. I'm feeling the crunch just like everybody else is, but I also have been planning for it. It's nobody else's fault if I make the wrong decisions. That's all I'm talking about.
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but your original comment was about gas prices going up, making ends meet, and living on credit cards, not about people losing there jobs. That's a different story altogether, and one we probably could agree on.
it's always someones turn to be very wealthy very fast, most of us will not see that in our lives but we'll pay the price for others to achieve that form of wealth, i'll just say 10 names of people o groups of people that made out on at least 95% of americans since the year 2000:
1. The Bush Family
2. The Clinton Family
3. The Saudis Bush is friends with
4. Dick Cheyney
5. Halliburton
6. Executives in the oil industry
7. Financial firms bailed out by the FED
8. All public jobs (teaching, hospital, police, ambulance, etc etc), a lot don't get paid much but they have very secure jobs, something most americans don't see
9. Asian countries that are thriving
10. Satan, cause he's winning this world over it seems as we all grow greedy, greed is a sin....

The original point was that NO business will not pick up because the economy is in the garbage. No One has extra money to spend on goods such as new cars and new homes. The extra freight left by Jevic will be fought over all the carriers. That was my original point. And P.S. I do not think you are bashing me. I enjoy a decent dialog between us members. This is too true to be funny. The next time you hear a politician use the word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about whether you want the 'politicians' spending YOUR tax money.
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.
A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive
C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain, let's take a look at New Orleans. It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division.
Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu (D), is asking the Congress for $250 BILLION to rebuild New Orleans. Interesting number, what does it mean?
A. Well, if you are one of 484,674 residents of New Orleans (every man, woman, child), you each get $516,528.
B. Or, if you have one of the 188,251 homes in New Orleans , your home gets $1,329,787.
C. Or, if you are a family of four, your family gets $2,066,012.

Honestly It does not matter who we vote for, The whole entire government needs to be replaced. The war is the biggest cost to us in life's and taxes. What we need is a revolution, a wake up call. Toll roads are being sold out underneath us to foreign investors, China is shipping us death by lead. And Autism is running rampant among children, who get vaccinations from their doctors who purchase the medication from China.(just my opinion). Sorry for all the doom and gloom, But we a faced with a very tough decision come November. We just have to pick the lesser of three evils.

So we are all truckdrivers, doesn't mean we are ignorant. We've got to know what we are dealing with when we are contacting (negotiating). We also need to know the truth about life.
If you would consider voting for "none of the above" by writing in Ron Paul, together we can let the Fed's know that we are on-to them.
We also need to focus on our personal freedoms and liberties. Without these, however we make our livings does not matter. As long as we allow our government to print money we will NEVER get a good sustainable working environment.
The days of the past when printed money was thrown around are forever over. We are going cashless or on a gold standard. I prefer the freedom of a gold standard. If the Fed can "print" money at will now inagine what a cashless "credits" system will do to you. Imagine having to negotiate a contract where YRC must pull your "credits" directly from the Gov. and not it's bank and customer sales.
It is anybodys guess how much a "credit" will buy. Or how many "credits" you will get "paid" per hour.
This involves EVERY elected office holder. Dog catcher up to the President. We need to start attending to these people.

in all seriousness do you believe that no company or no group of people would stand up and stop this.i do not know of a company the size of the oil companies just allowing the government in america to just take over their companies.i can see this happening in almost any other country in the world but don't BELIEVE it could happen in the US.i do not see the rich buying all the fuel you describe.i see the rich who create jobs to make money to make themselves richer and without them create-ing jobs fewer people work ,fewer people have money for homes,cars etc.industry then makes less,lays off people and a downward spiral begins.the more rich people in america the better not the other way around.

Yes the Co's want to make a profit. But the profit only adds to the national debt. Every "dollar" in your pocket is a peice of that debt. All "dollars" in curculation are LOANED to the US by the Federal Reserve. The Banks buy US bonds (dollars) and then re-loan them to us people.
The US atarts with 0.00 (zero) and borrows 1 billion "$$$" from the fed. The fed charges interest. So now the US not only must repay the loan it also must pay 1 million "$$$" in interest. AND the US just gave the first billion "$$$" to the poor, corn farmers, their paychecks, starving Hatians, etc., etc. So now the US must borrow another billion to pay back the first billion + INTEREST...
Can you see where I am going. The ONLY way to wliminate the US debt is to return EVERY "dollar" in circulation. Now what do you (we) do?
The Co. you work for will sell your soul to make a profit. You might sell your soul to make a profit. Or starve.
We work all day to golf on the weekend (or whatever it is that you do) never knowing why we stay poor.
We need to clean out our government. Or enjoy our slavery. Did you file your IRS slavery forms? If it isn't slavery then why do they "next to kill you" if you don't pay?
