Holland | YRC The Cancer Of The Trucking Industry

Well it took 6 years for this cancer to fully take over the body.

The problem was alway over leverage of debts and outdated operating models, with no flexibility. The recent article in Freightwaves “two decades in the making” only scratches the scabs of the deeper wound that many of us lived through.

Both the Union and the Management were to blame for its eventual demise. The rank and file workers gave and gave until they couldn’t give anything more. We can cast blame at those who performed at lower levels, but one can also look and see most lost heart after giving so much.

No one is entitled, while at the same time one should be able to expect to be decently rewarded for the efforts they contribute. That was lost entirely at Yellow unfortunately over decades of continuous **** poor decisions and poor management.

Don’t loose heart folks there is life after Yellow. For some after going through the roller coaster ride you have been on it will come as a big weight lifted off your shoulders for that matter.

One thing is for certain though, everyone in this industry wish you all well in the future! We did not wish for the demise and loss of normalcy for you as some may feel.

The death spiral was long in coming and they couldn’t pull the rabbit from the hat anymore.

Good luck guys !

Toby your elegance to which you have inserted into this piece of work is so true but more insensitive to the ones that suffer from the incurable cancer you speak of. Theirs one difference between Toby and the cancer patent is they will not give up until the last breathe. Good day.
The last breath finally came Griz
