no new England/new York terminals to be cut

negativity is never good for anything... remain positive and hopeful always!! attitude is everything!!! freight is being picked up !! be careful for the positive things you wish for ..you may just get them and will be so dog tired from the wave of all the freight you will have to del/pick up!!lol
always hopeful...u sound absolutely convinces no NE/NY terminals to be shut down...how can u convince me this is a fact
I don't know nothing with complete certainty but I have met and spoke with bill a few times in the past and I believe he is a straight shooter ..despite what a few people say about him I find him open and honest and will take care of the people that gave it their all for his company..and don't think he doesn't know who they are! this company is his legacy and I believe he will do everthing in his power to correct the direction of the company and I believe in my heart he will get this company up and going as well as settle his debts with his workers ... lets all pray my thoughts are true
I gave it my all and got lied to time and time again...cheated out of my pay....need I say more.
you haven't been cheated out of anything just yet.. have some faith brother! the dust just settled for cryin out loud..there is a lot of people in your shoes as well just refrain from being volatile a while longer!!
how long . 2 weeks NO PAY last time worked 12 / 28 / 2015 NOT PAID now that's .B.S LIES LIES NO CALLS WHATS GOING ON . . ?

I was laid off from carlstadt last week and was told they were moving the left over freight to other terminals or had the customers pick them up. What I'm upset about is I asked several times if I needed to look for a new job but was told no everything is fine no worries. Then out of left field I was told the company closed and for me to get paid I have to go to unemployment. How patient do I have to be when your put in a situation like this?
That's what you get for believing and trusting Mike ! I trusted him to till the ugly truth of what was really going on surfaced !

everyone will get paid.. geez give the man some time to get his ducks in order!!have patients a little while longer already!
I have read all the posts on this thread and am just disgusted by the way some of you have been cheering on the demise of a great company. if anything, those of you who did work for lax, you may have left this company for some sort of personal grievance that may or may not have any validity...yet you still had the opportunity to leave with more knowledge in the industry than when you arrived so at least feel good about that! , instead how do you behave? you look in the rearview mirror and complain about how you were wronged!! wa!! wa!! wa !! cry us a river!! you all should be ashamed of yourselves! grow up!! and to the one's bashing eric foster.. if you really knew him ( which you don't) you would know he busted his ass to get us to compliance but was squelched out on a few prevalent recommendations to make us truly more compliant but it would not of come without its sacrifice to the bottom line, but surely would of put us on a more strengthened path in the long run. with that said it would not suprise me if eric becomes the top safety director for the whole company, lastly , I pray for the spencer's and all the decent, hard working, dedicated people that are giving it their all for the sake of the survival of this company, and if it does not succeed at least there was a good fight trying to raise it back up!! there is no shame in fighting the good fight for something you believe in and that it why I think it will become bigger and better if given an honest chance by their customer base, because I know no other ltl carrier can haul freight and deliver it intact ,undamaged and on time better than land air..
Hold on. Let me put my hip boots on ! I have seen so much freight destroyed, damaged from leaky trailer roofs, ripped open by fork lifts a damaged rub rails, I lost count how many times we had to go up on the dock and try to put pallets back together or pack up damaged products. I truly find it hard to find any truth in your statement.

I did not declare land air never had damages, all companies have damage. the companies loss record is very low at least up in the northern terminals where safety and good work ethics are common place as witnessed by the terminals that kept on winning the yearly lax cup which is where it still resides.. its too bad that 1/2 of the workers down jersey did not have any work pride to rise above the status quo mindset of the big city jungle mentality and actually care more about your company but instead just put their interests first now as far as the damages you witnessed I believe you because its slam and jam and F U pay me sentiment down there .there is one thing I know.. if land air survives it will weed out the neaderthals that have created a lot of the wasteful spending that the spencer's had to pay out because of their careless work ethics which instead could of went into the wages and maintainance of the equipment.and I need to ask mark.. were you one of them Neanderthals? be honest with yourself.. its the first step for personal growth.

I'm with Saia and it sounds like we gave all our interline business to NEMF and won't be looking back.

Reading all this sounds exactly like what happened to the company I used to work for that went under. Hopefully someone buys you out that can at least afford to pay their employees. What a crock that is.

My thoughts are with you guys that got stiffed. Hope you can find new jobs and get back on your feet.

Actually I was the one that blew the whistle on what was going on, all the ::shit:: that grew legs and walked out the door, and how the terminal manager never held any of the drivers accountable for damage to the freight or wrecking the equipment, hiring drivers that I failed on there road test, claiming the cameras went down every time something walked or damaged. One driver I failed that he hired first knocked the steps right off the drivers side fuel tank on a railroad tie wall and a week later ran in to the back of a van sending the people to the hospital. Everything we repaired got trashed and no one was ever held responcable ! i AGREE WITH YOU 100% But the thing that pisses me off the most ? When I looked out for the company and notified Jason and Jeff I got my car trashed and my wallet stolen out of my tool box and of course the cameras went down ! And not Jason or Bill had my back, the best part is that ::shit:: was still walking out the door right to the end because I stayed in touch with a lot of the guys even though they were told not to speak to me. That's what I got for looking out for them ! In the year I was there we put every piece of equipment back in service that was sitting there for months and going no where !

Hold on geez let him get his ducks in order. You people have brass balls. Lets see just write on your checks to the mortgage company (GEEZ JUST HAVE SOME PATIENCE WHILE I GET MY DUCKS IN ORDER). Yeah see how thats works for ya.

look, they have their hands full trying to scramble to keep it afloat with the barrage they got by the feds, and dot audit.. for the most part I think that the communication was horrible to the workers at first however this was like a tidalwave of a serious magnitude and left corporate in a mad scramble... now things are settling down a bit and there seems to be direction and a plan so just calm down a bit and have a little faith for a change..

I was going to stay out of this but, weren't ALL of these problems brought on by **** poor management? This all could have been avoided if they played by the rules, like everybody else. Now you want to cut them slack? Your naivety is amazing.

I knew some good drivers at Land Air in NJ, in the NY/NJ markets you need to have a decent pay to get a decent driver. LAX 's top pay was lower than most other LTL's starting rate. With that, you get what you pay for. Most LTL ' s are over $25 ( if not more)for their top rate in the NY Metro area, LAX was at $20 ?

Hopeful, It is nice that YOU feel this way - UNTIL they jack you up. The wounds heal, but the scars are always there. A wise one once said....The Past predicts the Future. It is not about hating Spencer, it is HATING what he has done and/or does. The Clinical Definition of an Scociopath is a personality disorder manifesting itself in antisocial attitudes and behavior and a lack of conscience. Quite Spot On !

ALL these comments about land air express still doesn't change the situation at large. we can all complain till the cows come home but don't mean they are gonna produce milk...sometimes in life we go through some trials and tribulations but It happens so that that we can learn from it grow strength and be able to move forward with that being said everyone have a blessed day...

GREAT COMPANY?a great trucking company puts equipment priority #1 great companys don't put drivers behind the wheel after failing a drug test!a great company pays their employees timely! by the way most new england states have a seven day hold maximum on payroll checks."BUSTED HIS ASS" he had two full months to "bust his ass" before the deadline, it took 10 days to get reinstated so why was this not done in that 62 day period.the only knowledge anyone could have left with is just how dirtbagish this owner AND management are!as for eric if this is eric from class of 90 at lawrence high in fairfield maine a kid who always pushed the limits of his riding talent too far YEAH thats who i want for a safety manager.47 accidents in 24 months how much time do you need to see somethings a rye.do you think spencer ever prayed for you when he knew he was gonna stiff you?THIS COMPANY should never have fallen, your bosses put your life and the general public's at risk with their PUTRID NON-EXISTENT MORALS!!! any time you feel like comparing lax to xpo(formerly con-way)please bring it on!! our company is in the top 5 of everything in the ltl world more importantly #1 in maintenance along with#1 in 2/3 day lanes !your just a mom and pop carrier open your eyes because right now you make the 3 blind mice look like they have 20/20 vision.good luck with that customer thing i'm sure there still are companys that just want rock bottom prices but most want security of freight as well.

he bellowed that epic speech on the empty dock last nite to make himself feel better. some people cope with abuse in odd ways......some people like to work for free, although their choice of charities seems suspect. the few lax trucks on the road ALL have volunteers in them, if you want to help someone out, go to the soup kitchen, or help YOURSELF and go look for another job that gives you money in exchange for work performed.

whats spencers big plan, a case of free t shirts to hock? free bread and water to anyone coming in to work?

how is he going to secure a buyer or financing when he cant even make payroll that keeps piling up? anyone working is adding to his debt problem at this point...

cant let this meme be buried back on page 12, cracks me up every time I see someone posting who was born yesterday!

btw, how much of that loan that Spencer wants to find is going to have to pay workers in NJ for not following the WARN act and shutting down out of nowhere? he is going to have to tell that to whoever he wants money from. he has 300 employees he cant pay back, with wages AND safety bonuses from 2 years ago. why would anyone loan him money? so he can **** it down the toilet?

EVERY NJ LAX driver at this point is owed 60 days back pay, their safety bonuses for 2 years, and 2 weeks+ wages, not to mention ALL the other terminals back wages. add that all up, and I call BS on Spencer finding a loan, OR selling the company.

why buy, when you can let them go under and pick up what you want for next to nothing?
