Talked to a few drivers from other centers that got one assigned to them, the general consensus is that it wouldn't get out of its own way on flat ground and goes backwards up hills...most of them did say the ride was nice though.Volvos are 10 speeds 1200 @65 only difference from the R12 models is there isnt a shifter it has a push botton deal flush on right side of drivers seat. They ride excellent not a bad truck.
The stereo does kick azz though! Rock on!Talked to a few drivers from other centers that got one assigned to them, the general consensus is that it wouldn't get out of its own way on flat ground and goes backwards up hills...most of them did say the ride was nice though.
We had about 20 new ones on our yard but they've all been sent out to other centers...from the feedback I'm hearing, I'm glad!!

Just curious if anybody is having problems with the dash switch lights burning out in the new peterbilts. In the two months I've had the truck about five switch lights have burned out.
Remember you don't need power when you paid by the hour...Junk! They should've stuck with Volvo...but I understand Volvo only wanted their motors under the hood back then. I see things have changed because I see more new Volvos than Kw's
We had a city truck come in at our place last year with this seat, award truck, nice seat. From the Spec Review/Focus meeting, it was mentioned that going forward, all Driver seats would meet FedEx required specs and carry the FedEx badge. http://www.truckingboards.com/bb/threads/equip-spec-focus-group-meeting.68428/. The passenger seat is standard Pete issue, but the Driver side seems to be the latest spec. Something like this:
Pretty nice seat, really. Might even be the best seat in the LTL industry. Not sure. It does everything except provide heat and a back rub... BUT WAIT, it does, in fact, provide a lower back rub...
Not wanting to sound like Debbie Downer but...it all sounds good until you have to get the worn out seat cushion replaced! It takes an act of Congress just to get the shop to order one and another act to actually get a replacement in. Then, if you're lucky, you might can get them to swap it out it in a week's time. From the Spec Review/Focus meeting, it was mentioned that going forward, all Driver seats would meet FedEx required specs and carry the FedEx badge. http://www.truckingboards.com/bb/threads/equip-spec-focus-group-meeting.68428/. R+L guys are getting Bose seats in their new trucks. If you've never sat in one of these, you've never sat in the best seat in the industry. I demo'd one a couple of years ago at a trade show. Bose said they're worth $5000. I'd say they're worth it.From the Spec Review/Focus meeting, it was mentioned that going forward, all Driver seats would meet FedEx required specs and carry the FedEx badge. http://www.truckingboards.com/bb/threads/equip-spec-focus-group-meeting.68428/. It's almost like sitting in suspended animation. The Bose seat cancels all vibration and makes for a smooth ride, no matter what.R&L??? Really??? Now we're gonna have to do better if we can't even keep up with R&L!
JUST KIDDING . I can't imagine asking them to spend 5k for a seat. Must be very nice though. What might a seat like that do?
@roogie, we have some older, newer Peterbuilts that have the big, loud, annoying, speaker right above the radio (like the KW's) but I noticed yours doesn't....I'm sure there's still a speaker present somewhere in your truck but is it quieter now than the KW's and our PB's?
