NON-SHOP EMPLOYEES All employees working on the dock or in other safety-sensitive positions must wear sturdy, protective work shoes or boots. Work shoes must have a closed toe and heel with slip resistant soles. Tennis shoes and clogs are not permissible. For these employees, the decision to wear or to not wear safety shoes is that of the employee; however, for those who choose to do so, FXFI will reimburse for the cost of the shoes up to $120 per year as defined in the Reimbursement section for shoes that meet the following requirements:

• Shoes must have steel toe or non-metallic protections meeting ASTM F2413 standards for impact and compression
• The shoe sole must be of an oil resistant/slip resistant material
• Black or brown shoes are acceptable, unless employee participates in the Uniform Program, in which case shoes are required to be black in accordance with the “Uniforms – Company Purchased Policy.” Note: Safety shoes that are “athletic” in style and/or made by an athletic-type manufacturer (e.g., New Balance, Adidas, etc.) are permissible if they meet the requirements outlined above.

REIMBURSEMENT

Employees will be reimbursed the applicable amount (as defined above) per reimbursement year upon presenting a receipt of purchase to their direct Supervisor/Manager. Upon receipt of purchase, the direct Supervisor/Manager will complete the “Safety Shoe Reimbursement Request Form.” The reimbursement can apply towards the purchase of a new pair of shoes or resoling of an existing pair. Eligible employees may file a reimbursement for Policy 2 Safety Shoes and Required Footwear Policy safety shoe expenditures once every 12 months from the date of their last “Safety Shoe Reimbursement Request Form” submission. An employee’s direct Supervisor/Manager may refer to the “Reimbursement Eligibility Dashboard” to determine eligibility.
