The road drivers earn their $, without a doubt, especially the night guys that do dock work. Yeah, they make good $, but they earn every cent of it.
Leave out at 8pm,drive 198mi,break a set, jump on a forklift for 5hrs, assemble a set as the sun is coming up, then drive home, break a set, fuel. Go home after 14hrs. They are definitely not overpaid.
I still contend that city drivers need $ that's more in line with the road. City carrying its own hazards, and risks not typically found on the road, + dealing with customers.
One, maybe 2 pay scales. Top being $35hr, and $33hr for the other, as of today.[/QU
