XPO | Getting rehired

As long as you recognize that, it's a start for your recovery. My suggestion to you is that your not the only one that can have an opinion on this carrier. No, I don't work there, but don't try to take my freedom of speech by threatening me with a moderator. If you can do that, we will all get along. Have a great weekend! :usa2:
Rollin62

Are you trying to start another hijacking? We can start the bs whenever Ur ready. I always got a lot to get off my chest. Just say when

It's funny the way you threaten us with your " freedom ".

Also funny the way you feel threatened by a mod. If you can't control yourself. Someone else will be charged with the task.

When you get into a spot like this, where you can't win, just do what I do....disappear for about a week. :hide:

I come and go as it is. Planting season and Easter and a vacation on the way. Plus things to do around the house.

But there isn't anything to lose. Or anything to win. And I am my only real competition.

If I haven't lost, I've won to that degree. So I should be playing for the draw either way.

If he had given written notice they would have fired him, I saw it happen many times. Integrity a core value?

True dat! I gave them a written two-week notice and was escorted out of the building like a criminal. Was not allowed to work, and was treated as if I were getting fired, not me firing Con-way.

I saw that happen at another service center. I feel this is a he said/she said thing and I have no ground but hey I tried. I still think I did everything in Con-way's interest back then, talking to my SCM about my intentions and my family problems at least a full month before then telling him a date I was leaving. Just never thought this would happen. Live and learn I guess.

Funny thing is I still am proud that I worked there. I might not have agreed with a lot of things but I still liked working there. I was hoping for a second chance. I knew I would be at the bottom again and be flex and all. To me it still was a good option. I am not bitter at the company, maybe more upset at myself for giving it up a few years ago.

Since highspeeds won't step up the plate and apologize for hi-jacking your thread ill guess ill do it for him 'He's sorry' ! And I wouldn't really sweat this issue to long just re-apply next month because lord knows they will be begging for you to come back as fast as these people are fleeing .

Highspeed has a very bipolar personality. He often talks smack about conway but if an outside source does , he gets real defensive. It's kinda like a homophobic personality. A individual hates gays but yet has gay tendencies. I think he just hates himself in the buckeye state.

Sure sounds like this SCM has an issue with someone leaving or moving on to better things, a little Check on a box with a stroke of a pen and your finished for life .. ! Sad, but hey it's saves you the trouble of quiting again and getting a double {xx} aginst ya

Remember the guy last week with 16 yrs. that quit? well, his buddy with (I think) about 14 years or so quit yesterday. Rumor is they're going to run teams at OD. I wish them all the luck in the world. They were both pretty good guys and workers.

Convict may be right but I would not waste my time. Try at FredEx, I bet they would love to have you. OD,Saia, Estes, USF, UPSF, ABF would probably all take you. Good luck and God Bless and have a safe trip.

This is what I am upset about. Good guys. Leaving. I still have my job, sure. But it has been lessened by these absences.

And they ain't leaving without good reason. Finding good work and compensation on the outside.

I think we should go by a serial number instead of our name tag, I see new faces every day and I don't even bother to ask there names anymore , besides i sure dont dare to say ' see ya later ' because well you know !

This is just crazy with our senior drivers walking out ...one day this company will wake up to a parked fleet !

I wonder how many more will leave when the economy bust loose and other ltl's start recruiting, most of ours are taking a lesser of a job just to get away from the madness and ill treatment .

Yeah. Right now we don't feel it so much. Because when a driver leaves he is replaced by a dockhand. And we stay busy because we are now doing what was X number of drivers work with Y number of drivers.

What happens when you need drivers ? Open more schools ? Train them off the dock ? Will that still work with the safety policies ? How long will that green CDL last ?

How many of us will still be here to see it ?

There are plenty of good jobs around here..and OD is one of them.

I've seen a lot of people off the dock go Into the driver school program will poor results , IMO the graduates are not ready for prime time of the real world of city p&d . A few recent examples , rolled trips , ran over buildings , ran over the fuel pumps , demolished the hostler , parked on top of a fire hydrant .. I can go on and on but I think this direction is a waste of good resources and time and if were are lucky maybe we'll retain 1/10 form these classes when they are operational . Bottom line find a way to keep the skill you have or none of us will be around to see the end results as pressure mounts .
