We have had forward facing cameras at FedEx Freight for a few years now. For the most part they say that they have helped drivers more than it has hurt. The company likes it because it takes away the ability of a four wheeler to make up a story of they are at fault. We also have tractors with cameras on the right fender mirror that they can look at.
