Yellow | New Terminal

We found out that 309 was sold, maybe to Conway?

The company is planning on taking $3.5 million from the 309 sale to overhaul the Ridge. Only the Big House will be repaired/updated. The old city dock at the Ridge is beyond repair and would be too expensive, so it will be left as is.

We heard that a Sept or Oct move is planned.

They will not put anymore money into 309, the new fence and security cameras will be installed, but no new lighting or anything like that will happen.

How reliable is this information?---Very reliable from the name mentioned.

terminal better set up , bigger shop , in door fueling, close to rail yards. plus i heard chicago ridge was giving them a big tax break to move back, wishful thinking, believe it when i see it...

Their all gone unfortunately and they were all union . Heading north down Cicero ave. on the west side of Ciero was IML that boarded our Yellow terminal and across the street from our ternimal was Advance Transportation and behind them down a little road was Overnite from Rockford (not the one that everyone is thinking ) . Next to IML was Cambell 66 then that dirty old truck stop then M&S transport . On the east side of Ciero ave was Daum Overnite with the blue trucks then Central Motor lines out of North Carolina , they used Sewart Crtg. for their city work then back in the hole there was Bonifield Bros . Rooks Transfer, United Buckingham , Jones Truck lines, Arrow Transit, Scott Truck Lines Even Be Mac had their terminal at the end of the street . There was an other one South West Motor kinda an odd ball out fit because no one ever saw them on the street didn't know any one that worked for them either . There were a couple of small cartage outfits back there as well . Some of these out fits were bought out and then went under do to bad management like Ringsby buying out United Buckingham and Norwalk they moved to their new dock at 66 and 1 st. ave Estes is in there now . Others just went out .:1036316054:
I forgot Pic Walsh had a dock at 31st. and Cicero that was once was the same terminal that Chippewa had . Gateway took over Pic Walsh . Hoff Bros. Crtg. was also down there also till Chicago Suburban Express ( lift gate fleet ) took them over . Hoff Bros . had some good accounts CSX wanted .

If you remember there was talk about this once b/4 that Con job had to close their Gary terminal because of the Gary air port expansion . All though anything is possible because there was talk on the area news that Gary is going to expand . It would be nice to see those trucks rolling down Harlem Ave again .
