Well, that’s one thing they kept from the Conway days...run no matter what. Where are you out of?
I-80, I-81 and I-84 in the Poconos in PA. were shutdown by the State of PA, so the Milton, PA, Hagerstown,MD to Newburgh, NY (Also I-81 effects Albany, NY run) couldn't be run (lots of freight runs along those routes to the NE). Scranton, PA TV news link: http://wnep.com/

Local did make a no-run call ONE TIME while I worked there. All other times it was regional Linehaul (based in Maui, I believe) that made the call. Not much of the frozen stuff happens here, but it does occasionally.

We had four drivers run Jersey last night. Only Jersey. Four runs tonight (Saturday) to Newburgh. I was told I needed to run tonight. I wouldn’t if I had plans, and haven’t in the past when I did.
Same at my place. If they want to force the issue and send us out went it's really dangerous, we make the call and tell them it's not safe to go any farther and turn around. After all, it's just freight, not worth your life or anybody elses.

Some manager's are part time weather forecasters. Telling us it's not going to really start snowing heavy until tomorrow morning. It'll be okay to run tonite and make it back in the morning ..holiday inn here I come.....
