TFI's mantra has always been to go after fledgling operations. Companies in distress. Not usually companies in good situations. XPO LTL is still larger than all of their operations combined. Not saying it wouldn't happen but in my opinion it is doubtful. The closest they came to buying anything that was successful was when they took over CF (Canada) which was making money but struggling with identity and links to their bread and butter which was the US market after the fall of CF (US). If you think of US LTL's that are struggling then I think you would be closer to what they would look at. Like I said, anything is possible but in my personal opinion (which doesn't mean much) I don't see them as a viable suitor for XPO LTL if Jacobs were to put us on the market. They might kick the tires but I doubt they get behind the wheel.
