Yellow | Some Interesting Facts That Happened At 318 Bolingbrook

Question: Why has the company never shared in a possible profit? Shouldn't this be in every contract? What I am saying is there should be a yearly assessment as to whether there is extra money for wages. That is what everyone wants right? Fine, they don't pay any debt, but if the profits suddenly rise then the wages should too?

I will not lose my ******* dignity by voting yes. You can say it one or two more times before you really start TO **** ME OFF! We all know that management fubarred our company. 50,000 dollars a year driving a forklift-where else you gonna find that?

Go get a cdl!

That would be profit sharing... there is a profit sharing clause (whatever you want to call it) in the contract... the company does good you get something .....

Just a little heads up from the outside.. I resigned from New Penn on the 16th of January..18 years of service.. I took a new job and started Jan 5th.. OMG.. Can't believe someone actually hired me.. But they did.. Maybe the 20 year resume from the same employer had something to do about it.. Union job.. Bottom of the list..the whole 9 of doom and gloom!! Here's the bottom line.. BEST F&$@ING MOVE I EVER MADE!! Don't fret my brothers.. There are jobs out there!! You just need to go hunt again... Btw freight isn't the only place looking for drivers.

If I had a vote... Hmmmmmm... NO

Good Luck Brothers

How's that????

Passing this On From The Author..........KK

Just some interesting facts that happened at the 318 Bolingbrook meeting with our District Vice President this morning. After being told that anything but a yes vote results in immediate bankruptcy, I asked one simple question. "What was YRC's debt at the start of the original MOU compared to their current debt today?" This question was followed by the usual hemming and hawing to avoid actually answering the question directly. They even tried to move to another question before I pressed my question again. They all claimed they didn't know actual numbers but isn't it their jobs to KNOW these numbers? So after some time the guy actually stated "YRC's debt is virtually the same today as it was at the original MOU over 4 years ago."

To which I asked, "How do we trust a company that has received over 3 BILLION dollars from employee concession (mostly teamster) yet has not addressed YRC debt which is the reason for the concession in the first place and where did over 3 BILLION dollars go?" The answer: "Operational costs." !?! REALLY !?! And that is when it hit me like a ton of bricks.

If anyone else has noticed when they discuss the "LOOMING PAYMENTS" that have to be made in February and then again this summer, they are always careful to say "INTEREST" payments. They have never, nor will they ever attack the principle of the loans. Over 4 years have past, thousands of jobs lost, and an intent has been manifested to never address the root of the MOU in the first place. On top of all that, YRC management has proven to be the best in one field. MISMANAGEMENT!!! Didn't the current management team blame the previous team for the reason we are in trouble today? Yet the current management team has had over two years to set some sort of correction and have completely FAILED to do so.

If what we are being told is the truth regarding the negative vote resulting in bankruptcy, then I say it is time. If you had a basket of apples and notice one is rotting, you take the bad apple and toss it before it has a chance to spoil all the apples in the bunch.

YES the idea of starting over really sucks. YES our future is uncertain to say the least. But I believe we are in a Titanic type situation. We have hit the iceberg and we are going to sink regardless of any actions at this point. One cannot pay interest only on loans forever. Yet this is the mentality of the Captain of the YRC ship.

I will hold my head high and stand fast on my belief that YRC management, past and present, are the sole cause of our company's demise. I will VOTE NO and retain my pride as I set out looking for a better place of employment for me and my family. Remember one thing. Just because YRC files bankruptcy does not mean they have to close the doors. That is the choice they are making. And even if they do close the doors, the freight within their system does not just dry up and disintegrate. It is released into other systems thereby creating jobs that are not currently available without absorbing YRC's freight. So have faith brothers and sisters and retain your dignity as we go through this very difficult time. VOTE NO!!!

Yet the current management team has had over two years to set some sort of correction and have completely FAILED to do so. YRC management has proven to be the best in one field. MISMANAGEMENT!!!

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Right on!!! Management has failed and continues to fail day after day!!! They continue doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results. They have failed to make systemic changes at every operational level that would have paid off the massive debt by now. The most important reason management has failed to make these systemic changes is their arrogant and pompous belief that they are expert in every operational function and they know best. They have failed to respect their expert employees' opinions, suggestions and cost-saving ideas. Until we get rid of these fools and replace them with those who have learned to truly and humbly listen with the intent to effectuate real changes, we will continue to fail. Our ship is going down because Management has failed and continues to fail day after day!!! They continue doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results!!

KK loves to equate dignity with a no vote. He thinks closing YRC and putting us out of work is dignified. I disagree. Get it now, boss?

That's because KK has already gotten himself on the movie list..... lot easier to talk tough when you got a job waiting in the wings lol

Losses have dropped from $250 million to $50 million if I remember right. Think that was the last couple years. If management is so bad, how did that happen? Granted, there are more stupid things being done daily, and the economy still sux. Yeah, there is no respect, because reducing cost has been so important. But we still jam and cram freight, for lload average, and pay 30 million in claims dollars. Save OTR dollars to give it up in claims.

Ahhhhh... I see... You seem a little stressed.. But thanks TB police officer!!

I was actually honestly asking you a question... was trying to figure out if it was you or another poster... I don't really keep up with "who said what" I just remember what was said... Sorry to have irritated you... that was not my intent.

I will refrain from asking you questions.. if I can remember who you are...

That's an easy way of not accepting your responsibility in closing a company! I voted no - but it wouldn't have mattered anyway.... not my fault!..... illogical at best.

So the company that sells you a car can restart your note to zero paid and you will start over whenever they desire? Good attitude to have. The banks really appreciate your business. Instead of you financing a car for 5 years the would love to start you over and have you paying ten.

The original MOU said they could and would fix the debt in five years which is why many voted yes the first time. (I did vote NO then also because I saw this coming) Now they are saying the same thing and the sheep that are scared of any type of fight are saying "OK, we will not fight, please take what you want and leave us alone." Grow a pair already!!!

Can you please show me where it said what I underlined? Thanks.

I do not have that in print. Otherwise my house would be full of YRC propaganda over the past years. I do tend to toss garbage where it belongs. But are you telling me that you believe that is NOT what the MOU was intended to do? Is your head buried in the sand while the rest of us fight for whats right?

A forklift operator with no other special skills wont. Why are some people so hell bent on the company closing now?Everyone knew about the huge debt for years now, so why didnt some of you start looking for another job?Why not just ride it out and see what happens? In the mean time start looking for another job if you think your getting screwed that bad and cant take it anymore? It is what it is and i dont see how YRC closing will be better for anyone except for the guys that work at companies that will gain from this like ABF

I believe alot of us including me are missing the point.I know you and the rest of us are wondering what happened to the 3.4bil dollars we lent them over the years? In all the history of the freight business.YRCW has spent an olympian record amount of our give back money.Comparatively speaking about other freight companies. They havent even came close to the 3.4bil expenditures of yrcw.Something is dead serious wrong here.Blame it on mismanagement or whatever. Most supervisors on the dock only make about 25k a year. And other salaried workers are a little better but not enough to have dented that 3.4billion.I suspect but i do not know for a fact. That somewhere in this organization there has been some wrongdoings.Cmon how does 3.4bil just disappear and nobody has an answer for us?When that kind of money disappears one would have to really suspect something. This isnt the kind of money that you can drop into a kitty litter box and cover up with sand.If this company goes to BK court. The presiding judge will ask for records of all accounting.I think this is where some folks will be getting a tad bit nervous.Sooooo to stave off BK we have this little vote you see. With a yes vote. The damage will not be divulged. Then they can go into this little refi game.So why would you vote yes to something and practically esponge any wrongdoers and then give them more of our money and rights?Beats me.All the company will be doing is kicking the can down the road.the company still has that 1.4billion debt that has never been paid down.It was 1.4 billion a few years ago.No accusations to anyone.Excuse me 3.4billion dollars is missing.what say you all?

Didn't tell you anything, simply asked you a question. Are you so defensive that you need the snarky "head buried in the sand" comment?

You are right and for that, I'm sorry. Have you seen some of the postings on here? Some really are "snarky" and my assumption was that your comment was in the same tone.

My guess it is in the YRC branch bank in the Cayman Islands, or it is buried in the parking lot at the Ridge.
