XPO | Union Buster Information, for Management And Employees

Well the former ceo of Conway was a idiot thinking he could give 90 percent discounts and run YRCW out of business and look where that got him!!!!!!

A several million dollar buy out. And a new gig for several million that he quickly ruined before landing in his current gig still making millions.

Or did you mean something else ?

I will donate my 2 cents on why these drivers are leaving in groves ... This place is ran by non-experienced rookies , they belittle, discourage, disrespect, look down upon you , degrade your character, demand respect, spit in your face (sarc) , no integrity, lie, more lies ,vengeful , cowards , intimidate with the threat of an LOI, loss of retirement ,'401k , insurance, vac, steal lunch breaks, hook time, fuel time, dock time , forced to use to use the 16 hour rule all the time, change rules on a whim, accuse without evidence , fire at will , and did I mention intimidation by the use of Fear tactics? , lack of credibility , and lastly this company is using massive amounts of subservice which eliminates the use for our road drivers ... So there ya have it they are stealing our jobs and our future all for big profits and bonuses for a select few without any remorse or reguards to the employee that built this company ! Vote Yes

Somebody got good sleep today ! All of that and it actually made sense.

There cut? 2 1/2 times your hourly rate once a month= in return you get your pension and your medical dental eyeglass insurance !! More to it than just there cut !!!

Well it's their cut. But whatever. You aren't actually going to argue that they get paid ? Or that their pay comes out of your check ?

They spend all day talking on the phone BSing. And take your money for it. They do don't your work. They probably ain't even allowed on the property.

How will they become a slave to the union ??? It's more like they are already slaves to Conway! Right? A pension could be negotiated into a contract if thats what the employee's want, if they want a 401k that is also something negotiable.
The thing is the union is there to represent the employee's not to work in the LTL business, not to run Conway. Surely your speaking with forked tongue, how will the union cause the company to lose customers, and lose freight? Isn't that the job of the sales people to keep and get freight into those trailers? And YES the Teamsters and LTL don't work, BUT the Teamsters and Conway employee's just might!

So you're saying there's a chance ? ( Jim Carey voice )

If the union had no power then Conway wouldn't spend hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to avoid their employee's going Teamsters. And how could you say there in no strength in numbers, look at it like this ... you can easily break one pencil with no problem, try breaking 30 at the same time. So do you see the strength in numbers. The Teamsters union will be the conways employee's representatives when they need to be represented and by the looks of it right now they need plenty of representation.

I didn't say that. You said that. Can you read okay? Had a couple to many ? Re-read my post. Stop being stupid.

Talk to me about your vacation time! How many weeks did they steal from you? If you had a contract they couldn't touch that unless you voted on it.
And we get it, Conway is here to make a profit and so are all the unionized companies we represent.
So why did that "somebody get fired ? For union activities ? Are you trying to say that to place fear out there? Typical management.

You mean until you vote on it the way the company told you to. Didn't you guys vote to reject concessions at first ?

And they told you that wasn't gonna work go vote again and do it right this time ?

You didn't say what ?? I was making a point on union strength. And what are you claiming i said?
You see how you spin things! Your name should change to spin doctor extraordinaire.

We voted and it always passed. We voted to keep the company afloat. But the beauty of it was that we had to VOTE in our concessions! They just TOOK your with out any say from the conway employee's. There is a difference! and the difference is a UNION CONTRACT! How ever you want to spin this a contract stops everything the company will do to any employee and their family's with the power of a VOTE !

Okay, so English is your second or third language.

My post was in direct reference to beerfd's post. Not whatever ignorance is rattling around inside your head. That is why I quoted him. That is what I was speaking to.

That isn't spin doctoring. That is a normal discussion. Some one says something and I reply to it adding my opinion on what they said.

In your world I guess posting after someone changes the content and context of their post. Which is about right coming from you.

What the hell are you ?

So you are proud to have stood up to the company and voted to follow the company line ?

The thing is that if it wasn't for the union companies that are left and the ones that are no longer here you would not be receiving the pay and benifits that you receive today. And with employes with the mindset like yours the country will fail.

read a little deeper into the current state of our country there junior... the longer you keep thinking the history of organized labor is the future of organized labor the quicker there will be less organized labor. An outdated gallon of milk sits on the shelf and will only be purchased by someone who doesn't take the time to investigate what they are holding in their hand. Once they get that special taste in their mouth they realize that they should have taken the time to look beyond the first one available

I think that all you mention here is on the job application at all Company's.

I sure would like to have more pay per hour and pension again but, here's what will happen if we were to vote positive for union representation. If wages and benefits go up the company(Con-Way) is going to streamline its operations in ways to make up for that money. Folks in large service centers with say 8 or less years are going to be looking for a job while folks in smaller service centers, who will actually better off, that have 2 years or less will be looking for a job also. If the fellows in Laredo think that these folks won't just go along for a few months until they have another facility up and running they are insane. This company will cut out what ever it has to in order to remain non-union. If they think they are ruthless now start up the union thing. Don't believe it,ask some of the guys who were long term employees at big "O" before they went union. There were guys there with 10-15 years of service who had to hunt new jobs. If it came down to a vote at our location I'd have to vote no. I just wish that the upper management folks would get there head out of their butts and get back in the freight business and grow the company so we would all have a good job for a long time. I think that they have lost sight of what it is that they have to sell. We don't sell cameras and numbers. I've never seen cameras and numbers put one stick of freight on a wagon. Get back to taking care of our customers first the employee second and the shareholder last. I they would do these things there wouldn't be any mention of a union. Just my opinion as a driver.

I agree, but most of these big terminals are so short on drivers right now that they wouldn't have any people to lay off.

Yeah I agree there. People quitting way to fast to replace. But smaller terminals or terminals with low turn over would probably feel it more.

Yeah that's a good point but, where I'm at we don't have enough freight hardly to keep 10 guys on the street everyday. Have decent inbound but our outbound is in the tank.

You left, that's why you don't care. And please learn how to reply to a 'quote' so we'll be sure to know whom your responding to in the future. Your a weak-minded person..you don't belong here anyways..just sayin', I've read your posts..

????????????????????????????????????????wah wah wah!!

If they would streamline to shed employees in the case of a union, why arent they doing it now to increase profitability?
