Yellow | Jobs after YRC

I can't really help you. They used somewhat to be in the same neighborhood wagewise, as we-- before our concessions. Something like 20-22 an hour, topscale- I've heard. I doubt they have company-paid benefits like us though.

Since the economy fell apart-- I have no idea if they conceded anything or not. Try going on their site and asking????? King's Disciple could probably find out if you pm him. I believe he's a Road Driver there? He's always on the Politics Forum.

I got laid off from yellow at STL last oct. HAd 8yrsd on the road there. Before that i was hauling drayage for a pigment co. before that I worked for a specialized flatbed carrier out of E.StLouis Il. Before that I was a beverage diver for Dr.Pepper and then Coca-Cola. Now I'm back to running long hauln over the road for a refrigerated co. I am teaming with another Driver laid off from Yellow in STL. We are splitting 47 cents per all miles paid all tolls paid. But we haul Con-ways freight out to the West coast usually Seattle, Portland or Sacramento, then go to the Central California Valley and haul produce back to either St.Louis, Chicago, or Western Ohio. We are getting pretty good miles and i can make one recomendation it would be, If you can stand it get on with a refer co. You have to remember that people have to eat. Whether they eat at home or eat out they are going to eat. Tie yourself to the food chain and you will always have some sort of work. may not always be great. But you will be able to get by.

Any former yrc driver looking to team up, look know further. I been with yrc for 4 plus years and always ran teams. I'm a non-smoker and always used the restroom outside of the cab, I run hard and get along with others. Laidoff now and Im just throwing it out their. Buy the way no accidents no tickets and never got a warning letter. Safety is always my top priority.:shift:

I have not found a company yet but wish it was unionized. My question is if a fellow laidoff driver needed a good co driver? But you know glenmoore is probably closer to get unionized than any other truckload company.

prounion-- almost all union companies today already have their own drivers on layoff. Therefore, aren't hiring. I wish you well! May you Succeed in your endeavors.

There was life after CF and there will be life after YRC. What kind of life depends on waht you want. I was an ops supv and layed off 9/08. I did the stay at home unemployment thing while looking for a job. Nothing was happening except I was sinking into a "funk". Well, I decided to go back to schoool at age (over 50) to complete my degree in Business Administration/Human Resources and I'm throwing in Labor Relations. i think being on both sides of the glass gives me a pretty good perspective. SO..look out. I may be your BA or your labor person in a few years. One lesson we've all learned; be careful who you **** off cause one day he/she may be your boss...
BTY any financial acctg geniuses on here..... I'm trying to understand bond, interest rates, margins etc...I NEED HELP...
