Was the previous 8 years an irritant to you also? Thou I'm not pleased with what we have I quiver at the thought of Sarah Palin as the President. There is no way in hell McCain would have made it through a full term, he's a major grabber waiting to happen.

In many ways, the past 8 years were irritating....too focused on a war we had no business creating (remember WMDs?), which has cost us billions to finance..
It should have been about Bin Laden and that's it..
Lousy oversight of the financial markets, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac by the treasury department during those years...Housing and Lending was/is the driving factor behind our contracting economy and it's semi-collapse, nothing else...that being said, attempts were made to reform and regulate, but were blocked by geniuses like Barney Frank, and Chris Dodd. (After looking closer, I am beginning to think that the people of Massachusetts are just as high on drugs at election time as we are in California...Maybe throw Connecticut in there, too)..
Like his daddy before him, GW didn't have the ability to juggle more than one thing, and the backyard was in a shambles when he left...
He did, however, have the right "idea" and "premise" for a strong economy, trying to keep taxes down on workers AND business, because we know that when people and business have money to invest, the economy thrives, and jobs are created..
What is happening now will lead to big government, which never works, inflation the likes we have probably never seen, and high taxes on EVERYONE, despite what Backup Obama says...Typical Democratic model...Don't even get me started on the nitwits surrounding him..

GW kept us safe from another attack on our soil, but at a tremendous cost of some civil liberties that some would deem unconstitutional ( I hate going through an airport, but feel safer on a plane)

In the previous 8 years, we never got a pay-cut. that's all I have to say about that.

No, but you did lose your pension, which in my eyes, is much, much more important, and we are now having to take a pay-cut due to the last 4 years. I ain't no Demi but the past 4 years has made me look at the 3rd party much closer.

As a registered 3rd party member, I have the freedom to consider all sides, and am also criticized by all sides for a "lack of commitment"...I simply reply that they need to give me something to commit to if they want my support...

And why do you say the pay cut is due to the past 4 years, I am assuming you are pointing at Republicans..???
It was a democrat overseeing FM & FM...It was him who said all is well with that arm, right before the arm snapped in two...
Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and oh yeah, don't forget your favorite speaker of the house since 2006, Nancy Pelosi...the Dems have had control of congress since 2006, so there is plenty of blame to go around...
You said you were scared of the idea of Palin becoming president...OK, I am good with that, but if that's the case, you should be wetting your pants with fear over the thought of Pelosi, the current number 3 in charge, getting that opportunity...

I really need to leave politics alone, but I can't...I am watching our country take a dump, and I can't just sit idly by...we are all going to be so unhappy in another year and a half, it frightens me..
