Got my benefits packet today. So far I like it. So its looking like company man for me.
Sorry teamsters...
So far you like it. What will happen when you get to something you don't like? Will you be able to change it so that it meets to your liking?

I'm amazed at how you turn a mans opinion into drinking company cool aid. And then you can read a mans mind and tell him how if his toes get stepped on that he will go running to the union.... simply amazing! You act like we don't have any rights because we are non-union. That is BS.. There is life without the union. A very prosperous one. I have been doing it for almost 21 years now. I too will be voting "NO" to the union...
Silverhawk1,
What you and Skeeter have experienced for your 20+ years was not UPS. Evidently, you have been able to cope with what Overnite has dealt to you, what you need to remember is Overnite is gone, kaput, CYA, Sionara. UPS runs the ship now, and as they have been known for years, runs the tightest ship in the industry. I didn't read anyone's mind just making an observation about human nature. Most people that feel they can fend for themselves are usually the first to seek help when they find they can no longer do it themselves.

I know Silverhawk I laugh and just let them rattle on. That is part of the old scare tactics. If you get along with management or do your job you are a kiss xxx.
Skeeter,
You can laugh all you want if you think this is a scare tactic. But tell me, if this is indeed a scare tactic, what do you call it when management locks you in a meeting, spreading lies and misinformation about the union with no one present from the union to deflate those lies? What do you call it when management threatens your job because of union interests? What do you call it when management decides to freeze or cut your salary or beneifts at the drop of a hat? What do you call it when management makes unreasonable or unsafe demands of you and your coworkers? So you see Skeeter, you can laugh all you want about something I may say, because I am laughing at the conditions that you seem to like to work under. And don't worry, When you do decide to jump on the horse, I will not be laughing at you then and I'll go one further, I won't even say I told you so!
What did one say trail by fire. Over the past 24 years I have had many. You know what I got through it without the teamsters.
I have alo had my share of trial by fire in my 19 years in LTL. In none of those situations, did I need the Teamsters to cover my back. However, like a good insurance policy, it is better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it.
