I've learned two things this week:

1. Pho has 19 bids now with 23 drivers and should have 32 bids bye July 17. Cutting most of our lay downs and going mostly turns/meets and two teams

2. I've been lead to beleive that that hiring and transfer freeze has been lifted the week of 6-23-06. Anyone confrim this?

Yes, it has been lifted, their trying to hire 25 in socal asap. Background is taking too long. I don't know why they are hiring for LA, they keep cutting runs out here.

You know they cut and add all year long and we are starting to hire new as well.

My new jobclass is "Freight Redundancy Specialist".

This Person will have the ability
to tolerate mentally challenged dispatchers
who excell in the art of ignorance redundancy,
and can withstand driving 18 wheelers at
top end speeds in circles.

No, just like your company your contract is denied,and if you try to organize I'll move next door and lock the doors on my old place. Oops, were way off topic we better straighten up and fly right so we don't get yelled at.

Today I learned that PNX and PHO are dovetailing 7-30-06. 23 drivers in Pho 7 in Pnx plus Pho hiring 5 off street and 4 moving up from city = 39 also = no work for some :duh: who's running this show? O yea I forgot OVNT is going teach us (MC) how to truck and run freight in the west so we've been told from Richmond. Mty's to meet Mty's, Mty's to terminal and back with same Mty's :thumbsup: yep, we're learning ....How to loose costumers and to be run into the ground. :soapbox: I'm done.

I've seen LAX's bids and heard about RIA and I agree I hope for the best only two doveing above me. But we'll see

Are you guys all going to fit in your terminal?

I assume thier keeping PHO (the new terminal) I was there Sun on the way back from HRS, man was it packed.

Yea we'll fit, but like I said before 39 drivers in PHO = no work for some, weekends have always been packed here and worse since no one works one weekends.
 
Just a question, if they are coming over woudn't they bring over thier business?

Maybe you said it and I wasn't paying attention.
 
I'm off the subject,but I hear its triple didgit temps..

in Phoenix,with wide spread power outages?
I heared it on the radio today.

Living in upstate New York snow country,I can't ever remember it going over 100.
I can't relate to what it must be like with the power out,no airconditioning,and temps at 114?

May God have mercy on you folks.
I'm praying that this heat wave will soon be over for your area,or at least your power will be restored.

Glad to see we are not the only ones being shown how to git it done......Hope those pockets are deep cause the money flowing out of them is amazing....

What wide spread power outages, my home is a cool 78 degrees....
