Yellow | Chicago revote?

think of it as a casino game..'yes' you lose and 'no' you lose more

I wouldnt say lose more in a no vote, but either way you are losing. Best thing I can see is retire, but imo voting no releases the company and the union from getting me that much closer... I already have a job if this one folds and so do a few others I know of. I think everyone is just to scared or naive to realize that there is work out there. yrc isnt the "be all" company

It used to be. Not now.

I wish we could go back a few years to when work was good, I had a much better attitude then. Had a little bit o fun, ran good numbers and even had a better shift... seems no matter what we do, we just keep getting stuff taken away and really makes it hard to walk up that ramp everyday... to put up with the elements of weather, ignorant supervisors, wage cuts around every corner, yrc trying to figure out what shift they can create to screw us at every chance... man I could go on.. but I just dont have the time

There is a "special" meeting this morning at the Hall at Local 710 for the office and dock to re-vote the "Job Security" package. It has been made clear that should the result be in favor of the company, then life will go on. If the result does not favor the company then freight will be moved around us, and the dock and office will be responsible for the loss of income and jobs in the Chicagoland area. In a move reminisant of the character Pontus Pilot, the local, in effect washed their hands. How disgraceful is it?

Very disgraceful !!!...The Union is responsible to collect all money due to the Fund but the Board of Trustees has stated that this is no longer on the table....They want a YES vote because it takes them off the hook for not going after what the Company and the Union agreed to under a collective bargaining agreement....

I have a ticket for the $122 Million Mega Millions for Tuesdays draw, but that will not go very far if I share with everyone, might want to get your own ticket!

Pontius Pilate is extremely reluctant to execute anyone at 705/710 or any other local or to be the union who authorized their crucifixion. YRC will think nothing of nailing you to the cross and Mr Pilate can do nothing but save your souls from the God awful agony of defeat

Absolutely correct, This was also stated at the meeting of the general membership the week previous. I'm sorry I didn't include it in my original response. Thanks "Heavy"

It's my understanding that the Bank demands for employee give-backs have reached 90% nationwide and the creditors have stated that the loan agreements will be satisfied even if they don't reach 100% of all membership...Seems to me that they have reached their goals for survival but want more...Sorry,but my vote still stands...NO!

We were told by the IBT that the 5% will save jobs, that was a lie, we were told that giving up our pensions will save jobs, that was a lie, we were told more give backs will save jobs, that was a lie, are YOUR going to vote YES and be lied to too! :ranting2:

As he said what have we got for what we gave up so far... a few months more of work? if we vote yes, next month they will want the other 7% they can ask for and after that it will be concessions on the healthcare... why not ask the stoopid union force for all the can get? they give it up everytine.

I always told everyone, why do you not get a job like that? They knew they could not do the job,so end of conversation. So, yes it is a lot of money, but a lot of drivers are making $70,000 driving a truck, so come off that dock my friend!
