FedEx Freight | Close call !

I've got to go with SMOKESTACK on this one ..... I got to many things on my mind at a traffice light (or other places) to think about the truck shutting off .... and some of our trucks take 10 seconds to restart. ... And don't be in one of those auto shifts when it decides not to restart ...:1036316054:

How much fuel do we save anyway when ..say 50% ... of the drivers will goose the fuel to keep it running ?????????

The problem I am having is when the truck shuts down at the same time you are stepping on the gas to take off.Now I am stuck in the middle of an intersection wainting on my 60sec restart.Oh I forgot I drive an autoshift.



What a paper trail this thread is leaving.....

I tell you what 7/11,be glad it has not happened to you.I'm in a automatic and it's sheer terror when it goes dead in an intersection.Now why don't you go back to your crayons and coloring books,and let us grown-ups finish our conversations.

If this individual had this problem in his personal vehicle, I bet he would'nt like it either. Recently I began taking off at a traffic light that just turned green and as I was easing off the clutch the fricken thing shut off. It would'nt start up immediately and there I was. Butwipes blowing the horn, yelling obscenities, blah, blah, blah. Like I said, if the shoe was on the other foot, he would'nt like it.

How about this idea.No more talking. The decision was handed down by the overlords. This is a known problem. It is dangerous. If our leaders care not what we say maybe a visit by osha to investigate a danger in the workplace would wake them up. we've talked enough.:smilie_132:
 
Corporate Brain Dead Decision............

Can't wait to see what the Great Fedex Frt. say's when they have a lawsuit throne at them from a 4-wheeler that ram's the back end of one of our STALLED truck's at a light.

True, but they can still sue, if a lawyer gets ahold of it and finds out about the idle shut down of 1 minute I bet he could rip fedex a new butthole, jury's love victims, and hate the big corporate pollution producing machine, maybe it will be a jury of obama lovers.

the 1min or less shutdown. I look in the mirror as I'm in a
panic restarting the S.O.B. and I see a large Tahoe barrling
up my A S S , thinking that the driver is looking at the green
light we have and wondering why this FXF truck is sitting
there I hear screeeeechhhhh.... The guy came inches of
smashing into the trailer , he had to have poop in his pants.
Well I get through on the yellow and he runs the red to
catch up to me to give me the finger and scream out a nice
long string of profanity in a major case of road rage. So I get
shot by the guy as this does happen in the city that we live
in for less. How does the company handle this ? Once again
I wish the white shirt ::shit:: head that thought this up was with
me today. The company really needs to rethink this serious
safety issue before there is a terrible accident .

Has anyone else had any close calls or am I stupid for watching
the intersection and traffic like a good driver would . Maybe now
I just have to look at my dash and screw watching what I'm
supposed to. D.O.T. really needs to look into this , hello D.O.T.

Take a cardboard placard.
Flip it over.
Take your Sharpie and write the following

WARNING
THIS TRUCK
DIES AT ALL
TRAFFIC
LIGHTS

Then slide it in your
placard holder.

What about the sides and the front, while your setting up camp in the intersection. You can not obstruct traffic, just because some boot licker in harrison is trying to impress his boss, with some money making scheme.:hide:

When you get to the traffic light......
shut your engine off.....
count to 20......
Then start your engine.....
and go on green....
If still red........
shut the engine again
and count to 10....
Start engine and GO.....

River17.....Your absolutly right,The fault will be the vehicle that hit you in the rearend, BUT in this sue happy world we live in and the person did hit a Travelling Billboard that say's "Fedex FReight" You know the AT FAULT'S Lawyer:funky: will have something to say!!!!!!!!!

I sat the other day at a railroad crossing and the exact same thing happened. The only exception was that the guy didn't almost hit me in the a$$. He did however chase me down to say a bunch of colorful things about fedex and their dumba$$ idiot drivers..... IF ANY WHITE SHIRTS ARE LISTENING,,,,,,WE ARE GETTING A BAD REPUTATION ON THE ROAD BECAUSE OF THIS!!!!!!!! LET'S STOP THE MADNESS FOR CRYIN OUT LOUD AND FIX THE PROBLEM.....PLEASE!!!!!:1036316054:
