Under the current laws, a company can stone wall negotiations forever. 3 years no contract.
The company has all the power, and the workers are powerless peons.
Stupid is as stupid does. How exactly were the workers "powerless" when it was they who voted to decertify the union? Wasn't that decision an example of their "power"?

That was a surrender, not an act of power.
They are now back to the same place they were, when they first voted for representation.

They initiated the action, doesn't sound at all like a surrender to me. But I guess if you don't agree with what they did you want to call it a surrender. OK, I get it.
The Teamsters Union is no longer interested in LTL trucking. Imo.Union leadership isn't interested in organizing anyone.Heck the union leadership didn't go to the FedEx workers and prod them to organize.
The workers voted for representation 3 years ago, that was empowering themselves.
3 years later they threw in the towel, and surrendered.
The company won. The employees lost.
If it makes you feel good to phrase it that way be my guest. I've made my point, I'm done.
If your point was that you know very little about the processes of labor law? Yes, your point was succinctly made.
Such a small number of the companies employees voted to join the union in the first place they had no power or solidarity. It would be like having sixty guys working the dock and two of them walk out to the curb in protest of sub standard wages on the property. Management would just ignore them two guys and carry on with the other 58 picking up the slack. If FEDEX was serious they would have had to gotten a much larger number of terminals to join and the same for Conway, it's all about Solidarity and these guys have none. I hope everyone that reads this takes note in a very short time we are going to need solidarity to stand up and take back what is ours. I know it is a little scary and you need to have a pair to do it, but if we don't stand together, well we might has well decertify also because if we are just going to accept the garbage they are offering us why even have a union? We can keep our fifty or sixty bucks a month and get paid and treated like crap without union representation! What has Hoffa and his boys done for us in the last five years? I do not feel that I have gotten a fair value for my monthly donation, if it was a business selling me a service that I was paying for every month I would have called and cancelled several years ago because of poor service! By the way I really was not looking forward to calling most of those FEDEX guys brothers anyway! Let them guys be known as scabs when they driving like :: and are splattering their sets all over the highways this winter! The workers voted for representation 3 years ago, that was empowering themselves.
3 years later they threw in the towel, and surrendered.
The company won. The employees lost.
