Ive seen plenty of Fed ex contractors hiring on indeed but no Fed Ex Freight. Is it cheaper to pay a contractor than to haul your own freight?

It's two different operations. I've been told ground contractors get paid less than freight does to haul ground trailers.

Ground Contractors aren't hiring because they're busy, they're hiring because the turnover rate is high. It's a job you take in between jobs, not something that's done long term.

For the bids we ran, we're cheaper than the contractors.

I think they were saving something like $1-2 every mile using us instead of their contractors.
