I don't know if the same people are in charge,but when fed-ex was American Trucking and the Union was trying to organise Overnite they tried to scare all of our bussiness away so they could get it.I know this first hand. They would do any thing ,or step on any company to get their frieght.I don't see any thing to laugh at here.

Wow! If you only knew. I am a 1st generation American of Cuban descent. My Mother and Father both imigrated from Cuba to escape Fidel Castro's Socialist, Communist regime in the 60's. My Grandfather was a well off coffee ranch owner in the hills of Gauntanamo, Cuba where the rebels were living during the battles with Batista's forces. Once Castro took over he took all of the land from the people and it became property of the government. he imprisoned my grand father for 5 years as a counter revolutionist only because he did not give in to the socialist idea's and give up his land willfully.

I can go on and on but for you to say what you said above with out even knowing my back ground or beliefs shows your ignorance once again. And for you to think that my political beliefs are the same as the union's are asinine. For your information I am a strong conservative, that believes in less government, right to life, stronger national defense and states rights. I have always voted republican contrary to what the union asks you to do because it aligns with my beliefs.

One last thing I work as hard as I can and have all of my life. I have never been on unemployment (thank God) and have supported my family of 7 on my income alone. So saying that I need to get off of my *** and work is also an ignorant statement.

Your better off being Silent or stick your foot into your mouth up to your knee.

Time for USPS to replace Fedex and UPS!!!

:biglaugh: I am not surprised! They had their good run. And they did not hire me!LOL! Unless "Big Management" gets in touch with the little guy they all are gonna fall just like AIG and we all loose because we own them all by how much we use their services. Lots more would be out of business if they were relying on my need of services and shopping! I shop the locally based stores and restaraunts when ever possible. Otherwise; I rellly stick to the basics being a woman. I have my hair cut about once a year, color it about as often and have not bought makeup in years. I shop at resale shops for everything accept undergarments and socks. I do not put junk on my walls at home including pictures. They pics now go on window sills. I have been in recession mode ever since I started working in 1974 as a teen. I have not seen what I would call a good economy in my own life! Not being negative just honest. It was about that time that our jobs started going overseas and the illegals took over. And since last year I have been in depression mode and have not worked in nearly a year. I am looking specifically now because of how long it has been! Too long to just jump at anything anymore!!! I am looking for semi-dedicated that takes me and my dog thru the Portland Oregon area so I can see my new granddaughter on a swingby for a few hours. We are able to go out 2-3 weeks before returning to the Chicago area. Keep the faith, keep shopping locally and God Bless America.:flame::mfight::USA:

It is good that fedex made a profit but not good for freight division since they had a operating ratio of 106 which means for every $1.00 made it cost the company $1.06 to operate. That said, it does not look very good for getting your job back if you've been laid off. The company has stated more cuts to come in freight and express side of operations.

I am not the kind to just sit around! No other country would consider the children of illegals to be citizens of their country. We are in some worse times. I have worked hard in the fields of Oregon picking berries, in retail, all kinds of production and retail and other customer service sectors and fast food in the past. My daughter could not even get a full time job since her graduation from high school a year ago. I am 3rd generation in the states from both sides. I believe in hard work but; it takes money to make money. And much of our money is being exported. I am against the exploitation of others here for those who alway will believe in slavery of others! And it is shameful that I have a sister with this mentality. I share what I have many times it is only a meal but that is one more meal for the person on the street who has it. It has not been Laziness just lack of opportunity>
 
When we edit what can be expressed then we are subject to the same kind of tyrants that took over Cuba! It is good that God has blessed you. I think that character and more survivability is my current status. Somewhat like in the military; I was there too a long time ago too.

Each ignoring the previous statement. 29 school aged children in Chicago have been innocent victims one of the last being a 14 yr old who protected his sisters baby with his body inside her car on the way home from a basketball game. :flame: Are we an example of treating your neighbor as yourself? Or just trying to be number1! At all costs to those around you? We are just starting to reap the fruits of the greedy mentality.:duh:

it does'nt matter what company you work for were all in the same boat. bunch of greedy bastards if you ask me. they made almost 100 million and they're still talking about putting people out of work just to make more..that's just simply amazing. when is enough enough?
 
If it is a basic "Man" mentality: after there is nothing left to save! Total destruction! Kinda like a bad marriage these "guys" in charge are in denial and will just get all they can and then say " I did not notice anything wrong" and most likely the "bombs" are going off 3 feet away!

Here's your accounting lesson for the day (from the guy who got a D in accounting! Lucky I'm not an accountant!)

An operating margin of -6.5% means an OR of 106.5, or $1.065 in cost for every $1.00 in revenue.

Where it says, "down from 4.0% the previous year", means that we operated at a 96 OR (operating ratio) last year, keeping .04 cents on every dollar of revenue.

Personally, I liked it better when we were operating in the mid-80s or low 90s, at worst, keeping .10 or .15 cents on every dollar of revenue!

you cant continue to print more money with nothing to back it. The Federal Reserve is not helping. President Obama is worried about the AIG bonus, estimated 1% of the billons given to AIG. The goverment needs to really consider what there doing before its to late. No company will continue to loose this much money without taking serious cuts. Did the Freight unit of FedEx loose the most ?

I hate it for Fed Ex. My wife is a sales Rep for a competitor and she said alot of her customers stopped shipping with Fed Ex because they wont pay any claims on freight that gets Damaged. One of my good friends drive for Fed Ex and he is big time worried.
 
The plan for our government currently is to act so quickly with out a detailed information prior to action to baffle us. Has anyone read all that was approved and passed into law yet?

I keep up on the "law" as much as possible. Eg: 1)Because of led battery terminals, and other like parts, congress is forbidding the sale of ATV's designed for teens. 2) Used brass shell casings (from military) will no longer be sold to the highest bidder, instead they shall be destroyed and sold for scrap (no more discounted re-loads for police and civilian use). AND (although not law) Obama is reversing. Soon Mexican licensed drivers will be permitted to make deliveries and pickups throughout these united States (unless your State chooses to secede). Clinton signed NAFTA, Bush engineered NAU, together Obama will use these to support JPMorgan. Who is serving on Obama's staff...?
