Bribes???? unreal ... they try correct problems its called a bribe...can't make this **** up...if these problems come back i won't sat a word...mean while YRC/atm is hiring bye bye...

To enact draconian rules more than once and then do away with them within days of a NLRB vote petition?

That's not a bribe?

If you hurry, you can jump back on the turnip wagon.

then we stand together and shut down all the centers
As a previous post stated a lot of drivers could not last 3 days without the money. FedEx has a little more money than the average driver so I think they could withstand a lengthy shutdown easier than the drivers. The dock workers will remain and be able to load the PT's. Not to mention that Fred has other sources of revenue.

BUT it's not Freddies money

Ugh! It really frustrates me that guys an gals see the problems, but want to stay neutral. Everyone knows why scorecard and crazy corrective action went away! Yet I had 2 drivers tell me they would sign a card after fedex signs a contract.

Buddy of mine said it best. They don't want to stick their neck out, but they want to get in line when the candy is passed out.

REALLY!

The following quote is from a German anti (⊙▃⊙) pastor who died before being liberated by the allies in a concentration camp. I am in NO WAY equating FEDEX or any employee with being a (⊙▃⊙) or fascist but if we fail in our effort to organize those sitting on the fence will find themselves as those in the last sentence did. The principle of sitting on the fence is the same. “First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out. And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.”

Again you are mistaken. Fred is not the sole owner of this company. He does not have the sole power or the authority to shut it down. It's a publicly traded company and shareholders have quite a bit of influence. The company values it's stock price more than anything, to the point of buying back it's own stock to manipulate the price up. Think things through, and you'll fear them much less.

Oh yeah, What exactly are dockworkers going to load and PTs haul, in your scenario, without someone picking up the freight. Like I said, think it through...

While I for one can understand yours and others frustration with some drivers that haven't made their minds up, I would caution some of you that resort to labeling or chastising them. Not everyone is afraid to stick their neck out or wants to wait till the coast is clear. Maybe its that for some they got into trucking because of the independence, have gotten where they are in life going it alone, have pulled their weight, done their part, been mindful of others plights, coexisted amongst a group operation yet remain an outsider by choice. And now for this movement to work some have to come to grips with being part of "the group" for essentially the first time in their adult lives. It could be many things. But this nonsense about being self centered, chicken ****, weak, must be from the me generation, etc doesn't accomplish anything, nor does always labeling union people as lazy or non-union supporters as buttkissers or teachers pets. While we all can be guilty of saying that stuff at times its what really makes me cringe.....being amidst a group with those that seem to always think that way and can't for one second fathom that there might be other genuine reasons for the way some are. But that's just me. If only things were so simple:cool:

Yes - City driver forced to check with the dock at end of shift occasionally (sometimes for weeks) when management determines the dock staff can't make goal.
