I am not going to get into an argument over this. I was speaking from past experience. I am completely happy where I am.

you will not regret it at all my friendIt's all relative... That is, for me, I'm coming from Central Transport going to OD...overtime or not, my situation is going to improve...is it a perfect move?? Maybe, maybe not.. My application is floating around at a few other companies...if they offer OT and full time straight away, I will have to consider those offers as they come. As of this second, OD has been nice enough to give me a chance, I'm excited to get started with them.

I left my old company because i moved out of state. It was a great small family owned company. I was upset about several decisions they made in 2009 and 10 but in the big picture it was the best job i had ever had. Decent pay and Benefits owner even knew me by first names.I said all that so you can get a feel for what i mean when i say, i still have never regretted coming to OD. Knowing what o know now, even though i was happy, i would have left them in NC to come to OD. It is a great company.Con-Way has never really been on my radar. Guess I'm neutral on them, I've heard equal amounts of good and bad about them. Paying your dues I think is normal there...pound you hard for awhile but slack off once enough guys get below ya. That's what I hear about there louisville ky hub.
I had some guys I know at OD, they helped paved the way for me. They like the job, atmosphere, co workers.. I have zero reservations about tossing CT aside to head to OD.
Dayton is the only other co that might give me pause if the called me with OT and full time...I'd have to interview just to see.
Thanks for sharing. :)

A little over 20 years ago I started working for OD, that's also the same time I became rich!!!
While pay was much less back then, always stayed busy. Nowadays I barely need to put in the same hours I use to and pull in a good paycheck each week. Traveled the world, allowed me to marry a moody wife, own nice reliable vehicles, cookie cutter house paid for and even a little change in the bank for a rainy day. OD made it possible!
Started. :)
Watched videos, then rode with a trainer.. So far it's been ok.. Nothing exciting yet.
