This is exactly what they did in Milwaukee. Work load never changed, partimers never missed a beat. They then laid off 10 drivers and made them 4 hour part-time cartage employees on Monday. They were recalled by Friday morning. The IBT had our back on this and were ready to serve notice. Keep track of all hours worked by part timers, bill counts, tonnage, overtime hours worked, etc. If there is one purpose the Part timers serve it is to keep the fulltimers working, they CANNOT lay off while the part timers are working! Doesn't hurt to make sure everyone is very safe on the dock as well.

Your question will be answered by Wed. morning. If Obama gets another four years, the business world will hold onto their money and the economy will retract even further, and yes......your freight volume will drop even more. Elections have consequences. Vote accordingly. Good luck.

Employees get a raise......the company spent money.
Employer puts an addition on to their facility.....the company spent money.
Employer hires new employees to work in new addition at facility.......company spent money.
Employer buys new trucks and trailers......the company spent money.

This is all "growth" for the working class employees.
You may want to rethink your version of "history" because you are grossly inaccurate.
 
If we wanted political views we can go to the Washington and the holy land thread. Also can turn on the TV and get filled with more of this BS. Now to get back on topic a total of 3 road laid off in SP. Most recent 1 on friday 11/03, all city working.

Flash every example you cite is correct. However there is an important component missing from your equation. Either a business will raise the selling price of their products OR sell more of their products. The NEED to invest capital or expand workforce are over riding factors. Businesses do not exist to serve altruistic goals.

They did call back 1 or 2 To,, hopin they take their time gettin back to me (3 or 4 away),, kinda nice seein a paycheck even though it is seasonal with UPS where theres no money taken out for the CEO to spend however he sees fit..
