Those "Flatface" Fords had the aerodynamics of a billboard. The maintenance director at that time, Jim May, who was ahead of his time recognized the "gap' between the top of the cab & the trailer was creating a drag. He had a wedge shaped wing put on top of several of the Fords & compared fuel mileage. This was the first cab fairing in the industry I know of.
