If I remember right you had two flat tires on one trailer. In all my years I was towed one time and maybe two or three flat tires. Excellent equipment for what we do.
Probely another committe should be formed, study this very serious concern, think about it for a while, and after long consederation come up with a very sugar coated F/U!
That's correct but most drivers I know don't do it.
Your wrong If I may refresh your memory I entered the yard with NO TIRES capisceIf I remember right you had two flat tires on one trailer.
This is what I have been saying for a long time. Until the local management is held accountable for what time DSR's get to the reship, They will continue to show up at 3:30-4:00AM. How is this possible? Even on Mondays! It is always the same 3 service centers, every night. The company wants to save money? There's a big one right there. The service centers will shut down sooner, re-ships will shut down sooner. You won't have 15-20 guys waiting around for them to show up.Because they're chicken****! If we started holding ops feet to the fire things would change. As long as we put up with the status quo, they will walk all over us every time it suits them.
Ha, you should try working 4-4 1/2 on the dock with a 400 mile run.It all comes back to my previous post.
No, they can't force you to run over your 14, but if you run out somewhere and have to wait to be picked up, then what? How long are you going to have to wait for someone to get to you? When does your "break" really start, when your 14 is up or when you get home? If you have to wait 3 hours to get picked up and then get home, what, do you have to be back in 7? What's safe about that? Just because it's legal doesn't mean it's RIGHT. We should have the same rules FedX has, if your run is total over 450 miles, you don't work the dock. Period. And because they go over at the FAC isn't your problem. You should not be forced to run a via. Period. If they have another set of hooks ready going back, if you don't want the via then you get your hooks going home. Period. That's what top end flex board drivers are for, to run the vias out of the FAC when they go over.
Very good point, this is a common Conway problem. Greed and Whine, in the same breath.Maybe you could bid a shorter run? I'm sure someone under you would appreciate the pay bump.
why bid a shorter run if he has the strap to maximize earning.
driving 400 miles and working the dock is just brutal. safety first
for 8 months i never complained about my 580 mile run very seldom working the dock i just figured because of the miles.but now its 2hrs plus every time on the dock not even counting the via. i thought just the miles was plenty for me. i to come in and sometimes wait on my load for hour or better then run this trip i get there im already getting tired.not to mention no time for lunch. i use my 16 just about every week plus 13.50 -14 hrs every day. i say this because i dont think this is very safe believe me if i had knowned this was the norm i would not do this. drivers call each other all the time to talk just to stay awake. you people really know what goes on so try to be safe
