Kid Rocks!!!

Kid you are the man... Perhaps if you see the Local 771 boys down there you can show them some pointers on how to communicate with their members and how to keep them informed...! Once again, you rock with the job you do for your people and thats really something to see, good luck down there.

Side note:Tyson is a Big Texan himself, so he should be very familiar with the Alamo himself.... :shades:

He's a Connected Insider remember?

Please vwaggs, get it right. We're "Elite Connected Insiders" remember? Don't shortchange us!! :smilie_132:

We were defined that way a long time back:
<snip> But if all you educated truck drivers can't see, or won't admit, the membership was mislead on this you sir (read: Triplex, 45 cal, x475) will never understand their frustration. Then again it may be something that you don't want to see. The Elite/Connected/Insiders are often the first to throw stones, if for no other reason than to keep those that think or feel different from the trough.<snip>

Any word on laid off road drivers being able to move in the change?

The contract says, If you are on layoff status, on 4/1/08, after the coo, if any terminals have any openings that have not been filled, you can bid on the opening and if you get the position, you take your company senority and job, but you have to pay for your own move. Which isn't a bad deal if you have 1 or 2 years senority and would like to move and have a job when you get there.

You got part of it right. However, if you are on layoff status according to the contract. And you move, it would be considered a "Work Opportunity". And besides having to move on your own money. You keep your Seniority as far as vacations and benefits go...but it would be an Article #5 move. Which means you would lose all bidding Seniority and go to the bottom of the Seniority board at your new domicile...
