Big deal, how many PTO days, whats there benefits like? 45 hours f that its after 8. Pension? Yeah, right lol. You guys are comparing apples to oranges. Discipline for there bullshit facing camera? No Thanks.Check the Saia thread.
Pay raises 2023
Its at 37.00 an hour at my locationTop rate at Saia for P&D just went up to 35.50 with overtime after 45 hours.
Even though our benefits are superior 35.50 sounds nice!
We lost a driver to Saia a few months ago!
Estes is hiring....The teamsters are too concerned with UPS, and this will wrap up without anyone even noticing. Sean O'Brien is too busy trying to make himself a fixture in the woke socialist labor movement
I am happy everyday that UPS sold the freight division. It would just be a casualty of Sean O'Briens ego.
Human nature is on my side.Estes is hiring....
Sorry, but the job changed on the 2nd bid in 2006... and hasn't stop changing. Lost count of the change of operations so far... there was another one just a few months ago. Here it keeps changing and changing, and changing.Just as it always has, nothing has changed in the LTL business, except some technology upgrades. Load freight, deliver freight, pick up freight, unload freight, load freight, deliver freight and so on and so forth.
The shirt and the truck colors change, the job doesn't.
I definitely agree with this... Ive been watching for quite a while. Red headed step child for IBT now.Not one mention of TForce on IBT Twitter or the Ibt website. Don't be fooled, they are even paying attention to TForce. As in 2018, we are on our own.
well, if you are at Saia, and you are close to your 10 year service date, walk on egg shells. We have a couple over here that almost got that free healthcare milestone. But just missed it.You might think you’re benefits are superior ( pretty sure there not , more likely on par or you’re less ) and it’s ot after 40 here
That can be taken away anytime. Nothing is guaranteed, not even a contract.well, if you are at Saia, and you are close to your 10 year service date, walk on egg shells. We have a couple over here that almost got that free healthcare milestone. But just missed it.
You want any play in the future, you'd better hope the next contract is at least a year longer or shorter than than ups contract.I definitely agree with this... Ive been watching for quite a while. Red headed step child for IBT now.
We’ll soon find out if O’Brien had the same set of balls for TForce Freight as he does for UPS. Will he and the negotiating committee have the guts to call a strike if TFI comes back with a shot contract? You want any play in the future, you'd better hope the next contract is at least a year longer or shorter than than ups contract.
He doesn't work for either company, makes a large 6 figure salary and will collect 3 different pensions. He will be just fine no matter what happens .We’ll soon find out if O’Brien had the same set of balls for TForce Freight as he does for UPS. Will he and the negotiating committee have the guts to call a strike if TFI comes back with a shot contract?
So. What’s your point? He’s still the General President of the IBT.He doesn't work for either company, makes a large 6 figure salary and will collect 3 different pensions. He will be just fine no matter what happens .
No skin in the game. He is a desk jockey.So. What’s your point? He’s still the General President of the IBT.
His skin in the game is getting re-elected.No skin in the game. He is a desk jockey.
He was the winner of a popularity contest. No skin in the game. He is a desk jockey.
Yep. And that still doesn’t change the fact that he’s the top dog.He was the winner of a popularity contest.
IMHO it is just like politics, the lesser of two evils prevails.
Image is everything....
Not arguing that fact.Yep. And that still doesn’t change the fact that he’s the top dog.
They did tell ABF anything about the the contract until it was approved by the 2 man committee.Ridiculous, go back and check the teamsters. Org website, ABF got plenty of attention.
Just as it was in 2018, UPS sucked all the air out of the room. That being said I am glad UPS sold freight. Hopefully for the future the contract will expire on a different date or at least a different year.
