I retired in 2008 after Overnite was UPS Freight for the first few years.
My terminal always called customers for an appointed delivery date & time.
For the customer who knew what they ordered to either have help to unload.
Or they should arrange for us to drop off their shipment at a cartage company to deliver with help on their truck.
I find it hard to believe that after 10 years, that policy has changed.
That now it is left up to P & D drivers to deliver heavy stuff?
When I was a UPS Freight trainer in my last years of my trucking career.
I always told my fellow employees to use their heads & not go beyond their judgement about what was safe,or not.
After all you only have one body to abuse,or to inform the company of unreasonable tasks.
So you can be in good health to continue trucking.
