Holland | YRC Financial/ Independant Opinion

Exactly!! What he said.

They do this stuff all the time here. It has lightened up a little since it's been slow but they certainly know all the tricks.

Its the oposite at my barn. seinour men come off the street and want to go home.I am on layoff\on call they will call me in at7am work inbound go out on peddal all day get in the yard at 6 see dispatch seinour man started at 10 am wants to go home so i get to work the out bound till 930. good money but no life .

We have city drivers in nashville that that ALWAYS get their 20 hours per week overtime.Whether they have 30 drops and 30 pick ups or 2 and 3,they always get in at the same time every night, yet they preach this"union brother loyalty" b.s. while the bottom 20 guys on the board sit home and starve.I have refused to come in early or stay late while there are guys laid off and believe me i have a large family and can dearly use the money.Seems to me,if these so called union brothers can time it out so they can be back when they have their 12 hours in,they can damn sure come back in when their 8 is up and refuse to go back out until everyone is back working again. It is my opinion that it would only take a day or two of this and our brothers sitting at home would be back on.But no one will stick together......our union here is more like a clique.

LumperSam you go boooyyyyy!

Your problem is that your brain is frozen, in case you don't know, you combo boys have something called a 10 hour rule, that means
you only HAVE to work 10 HOURS D*M*Y, did you get that?, unless of course you stretch
it out for 12 or more like I'm sure some people do.:Duel:
Now I don't have a problem with that, economy is bad, gas is high and people are going to need money, but there are some that will carry that crying towel all the way to the bank$$$$$$$$$$$$$, regardless of the number of people that are laid off.

I hate to bring boots in to this, but I think that you were washing more than his hand, how about it!!

You probably have a high seniority number,
so quit your BIT***ING boy!, you have a good job and you got it MADE!

PS: What's wrong with being a road driver?,
you could not handle it you big city R*T!

GOD BLESS AMERICA:USA:

Lumpersam

Yeah! You got it humper Sam---Put Big Papa in his place.......Big Papa---you gonna take all that SH*T? Better get a bag:hysterical:

See ya later B*:smilie_132:tches

I love how some of you guys love to quote other locals contracts when you dont have a clue on what the hell your talking about.

Explanation of 10 hr. rule in JO for big papa

Big papa; what!!, you need help now? you are asking "company man 73" who ever he is, to help you?. OK... let me esplain it to you LUCY.

THE TEN HOUR RULE

The ten hour rule was established to keep the Co. from freezing everyday and as a way to make things more equitable for everyone as far as working the OT is concerned.
You might have noticed that some people with HIGH seniority now have to stay and work until their ten hours are up, whereas before they would punch out unless they volunteered to stay. I love seniority.

This ten hour rule has helped the combos that never see the street work a reasonable amount of hours (10), instead of getting frozen everyday like before while the HIGH seniority combos punched out. I am all for seniority.

Now, you are saying that this is not fair, but you have to remember that the scale was tipped when your contract (did you not understand what you voted for? ) was voted in mostly by the top dogs in your barn that were afraid that the Co. would close the gates, the same fear overtook a lot of road drivers and now the road drivers are complaining about the UE, lots of linehaul jobs lost or maybe lost, but I'm sure you know that the MAJORITY RULES. ( Didn't anyone understand what they voted for?)

Big p, a lot of people vote, not to please BP, but to please their conscience's, people have families, mortgage$$$$$, obligations, there is a lot of words in the contract, you get confused ( like you for instance :duh:) so you have to do what is best for you, what I am trying to say is that members will vote according to their situation. Believe me, no one is thinking brotherhood at the ballot box, they are thinking wife, kids, $300,000 home, price of gas etc.etc..

No one is to blame for the contract that was voted in, we have to accept the majority vote because that is the way it works.

Unfortunately we tend to trust individuals that we voted in that are not that well informed about the situation, by that I mean our Union Stewards, our BA's and everybody else that is involved in the negotiations of a Union contract, but all is not a lost cause, we can always vote these people out when their term expires.

If you think you can do a better job Bp, you could run for any of these positions. Oh... never mind, I think that the only good thing (s) you are good at is whining, bit**ing & crying all the way to the bank.

I hope that I was able to explain the ten hour rule to you, if you have any problem reading it, please see your buddy the policeman and if you want me to explain the laid off formula or the UE please let me know, but you might have to take remedial math and reading classes to understand::smilie_132:

Regards, and GOD BLESS AMERICA :USA:

Lumpersam

PLUMPERSAM, I have plenty of sr and can have any bid I want as well as leave when my ten are up unless of course when 3x a week force you out on the street at your 9.5hr on the clock, Im not going to explain this to you as I have explained before because my 5 year old understands better than you, but you are just like the majority in the measters s*rew the guys below n its MEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEM AINT THAT RIGHT ****ERSAM.

I like how you can speculate who voted for the contract by saying the top dogs voted it in but yet 5yrs ago the company threatened to pull w coast which would've affected the bottom 1/4 or more and this year they laid off 30 plus at contract time and propose $14 hr casuals and say they cant work until everyones on call back. But yeah your prob right ****bersam it was the top dogs. Im sure there are plenty of guys at the top that voted yes but at Jo there are not to many top guys ready to retire. Its everyones right to vote the way they want but its usually guys like you who probably voted yes that are complaining the most. Like I said Scabbersam I asked if anyone heard the rumor of the pickets and just wanted info from someone who knows not from someone like you who gets on this board and yap yap yap yap because your wife dont let you speak at home.

Please wrap heavier foam around the bats you're beating each other with. We try to maintain a PG rating. :*******:

stumpersam if you dont know our contract then please dont try to quote it. contract does have a ten hr rule which does not apply if your on the street, and if your on the dock they can send you out on the street before your ten hours up. I will give you a scenario which happened today so your dumb hilly billy *** understands. 2am shift froze for 10 which means 1230 they can go but at 1200pm supervisor tells all 2am guys to see dispatch and hit the street, so 2am guys on the street at there 9.5 hr do you understand if not we can get cue cards and show you next time your in Joliet. As far as road driver not that I couldnt handle it but I have other driving skills other than going forward city guys can back up a tractor trailer. Have a great weekend by the way ccx is hiring ******.

So you voted yes for a contract that portions of it do not apply to you,
that was smart you Big du**y:hysterical:

Baby Teamster

BP, the problem with rookies is they think that because they joined the Union they think they have to complain about everything. You have to have REAL whiskers man, you are probably one of these McCook guys that stood in line to pay Gov. George Ryan for your CDL?:TR10driving03:
And as far as your SENIORITY is concerned IT WAS PROBABLY GIVEN TO YOU!!!! You probably never had to earn it. In case you don't know, SENIORITY IS TO BE USED NOT ABUSED you big b**y!!! It amazes me that people get away with all the BS in the name of seniority.:BS:

One thing you probably don't have is seniority in the Union, so grow up b**y Teamster!
:tongue0002:

Hey guys, lets stop making it so personal! Stay within the rules, I'll give you all a little but don't over do it. If you must have "personal attack" debates, take it to PM, thats one of the reasons its there. VWaggs told you to lighten up and now I'm telling you to lighten up.

This is the last free warning you'll get!!!

McCook guys standing inline to buy their cdl from Ryan? That's a stupid remark. If you truely work for Holland, you would know that they don't hire new drivers.
At least McCook sticks together like glue when they want something and they aren't back stabbers like some at other barns. They don't need to buy anything or suck up to anyone.

Is this the BROTHERHOOD everyone talks about?
NO, its not. A few of these guys are acting just like the other kind of brothers. You know the kind mama has to take a belt too. :hysterical:

Mustang, I think you'll agree with me, we can all discuss things without the name calling. I don't get it either but I still say we are all UNION brothers from a different mother. We can argue, cuss, complain, cry, groan or what ever but in the end we all have one another's backs. There are some me-sters out there but we all know how to deal with them. Hey, we all get worried and stressed out about things in todays world. As long as everybody controls themselves a little, this is a great place to unwind and have fun. There are so many things to do on this site that if you get upset, try going to the Casino and loose some free money. Read whats going on all over the world, on a bad day in America, its still better here than any other place in the world. I hate having to edit posts, warn people about breaking the rules or just having to waste mine and everybody else's time pointing out the rules. I would like it if there wasn't a need for forum mods but unfortunately they're needed to keep the peace. Mustang thanks for pointing out the need for "Brotherhood", it more than just a word.

Brotherhood:

Main Entry: broth·er·hood
Function: noun
Pronunciation: 'br&-[th]&r-"hud
Etymology: Middle English brotherhede, brotherhod, alteration of brotherrede, from Old English brOthorr[AE]den, from brOthor + r[AE]den condition -- more at KINDRED
1 : the quality or state of being brothers
2 : FELLOWSHIP , ALLIANCE
3 : an association (as a labor union) for a particular purpose
4 : the whole body of persons engaged in a business or profession

Some of the meesTers at JO. are the rejects from McCook. Making the big deals like Monty Hall. These are the people I was refering to.:butt kiss:

Gee stumpersam you seem to make friends all over this board.FYI the first 3 years Joliet was open there were more chargeables to the 705 experienced drivers compared to us who bought our licenses that were from 710.

Hard to get in an accident when you are driving 10 MPH in second gear and when you get to your destination it takes you 5hrs to back in, aren't you still doing that?.
