How small is your yard???True. But back then they didn't over hired. I remember also we couldn't have two guys on vacation at the same time.

Glad thing are going good for you! Me as well. I'm one of the senior guys and as one I expect it to count for something. Im in good financial shape and would like to make good bank the last 5 or 6 years. They base your social security on your best 30 years. Don't plan on the last 5 pulling that number down.
It won't go on forever, at some point the company has to turn a consistent and sustainable profit. They said that in 2009 too. Just checked my calendar: it’s 2020.
I'm pretty sure everyone here will max out on Social Security. Working extra is unlikely to change your benefit.Glad thing are going good for you! Me as well. Doubtful. For 2018 as a single you'd have to make $128,000. It's based on your top 35 working years average. Not saying some don't make that here. The vast majority don't. And every dollar counts toward your 35 year ave.I'm pretty sure everyone here will max out on Social Security. Working extra is unlikely to change your benefit.
Nothing wrong with stacking the bank. Just don't do to increase SS numbers.
160 + Doors , 80 + city drivers . And 20+ driver's stay home a day. ..... But if your talking about my yard I need a riding lawn mowerHow small is your yard???

Yep. I think it is 137,700 for 2020. I'm not close.Doubtful. For 2018 as a single you'd have to make $128,000. It's based on your top 35 working years average. Not saying some don't make that here. The vast majority don't. And every dollar counts toward your 35 year ave.
Yep. Sooner or later, the bill comes due.It won't go on forever, at some point the company has to turn a consistent and sustainable profit.
Thanks for posting thisInteresting. You are absolutely correct . I did NOT know that. Thanks.
I do see that there is a significantly diminished return as the earnings approach the Max taxable.

Based on your average indexed monthly earnings (AIME), of those 35 years:
https://www.fool.com/investing/2018/09/11/how-much-do-you-need-to-earn-to-max-out-your-socia.aspx
- 90% of your AIME up to $926;
- 32% of your AIME between $926 and $5,583; and
- 15% of AIME above $5,583
That sounds like u want to work overtime to me.they let people who wanted to work later stay. problem is they see it as overtime that can be cut
They have been saying that for how many years now ??Good gig, until the banks close YRC...
Was questioning your comment about one person on vacation at a time. Must have a lot of people being cashed out all the time.160 + Doors , 80 + city drivers . And 20+ driver's stay home a day. ..... But if your talking about my yard I need a riding lawn mower

I don't mind a couple of hours, but I definitely want to put my 40 in. all I'm saying is as one of the senior men I should have that option. That sounds like u want to work overtime to me.
No .. that was back in the day. :: I forgot what that post was all about. Hell now their begging you to take vacation. Was questioning your comment about one person on vacation at a time. Must have a lot of people being cashed out all the time.
I pay $58 a month, my total out of pocket for family is $2000 . your health insurance is not even close to ours..How much in union dues are you paying for the "free" insurance?
Sounds good me. Now why can't FedEx give us that kind of bargain?I pay $58 a month, my total out of pocket for family is $2000 . your health insurance is not even close to ours..
So.....had to do the math. $58/month dues multiply by 12 months gives you $696/year. Assume you hit out of pocket of $2000.I pay $58 a month, my total out of pocket for family is $2000 . your health insurance is not even close to ours..
true. but I would hit my out of pocket just i. case any member of my family or myself needed a surgery.. my total deductible for all my family is just $900. I'm pretty sure your deductible is higher than mine and your out of pocket is no less than $8,000 in case of surgery.So.....had to do the math. $58/month dues multiply by 12 months gives you $696/year. Assume you hit out of pocket of $2000.
That is $2696/year. Divide by 52 weeks and your cost for the "free" insurance is $51.84/week. Still a good deal, no doubt. But not free
