XPO | 2007 Raise

Thats right. Try living in Portland, Me. Its third highest cost of living per capita in the USA. I think Boston is #1 and I forget #2.

Even though we make more at Central, the difference in what $200k can buy you is HUGE....In Portland, you are LUCKY to find a DECENT 2 bedroom condo/house for $200k. In Boston its even worse...that will but you a 1 bedroom.

So yes, we make more......but we also pay more. Taxes are rediculous here as well....
Same way in the Chicago area.

Hey Guys -

A friend of my brother-in-law is looking at switching from his current driving job (local cartage in the Windy City) to LTL.

He asked me what I thought? Doesn't want a union shop, so I told him ConWay has a great rep on the street. Said i have trouble selling against them.

What is the driver pay? City and linehaul? How about benefits? Weekly co-pay vary by family, etc.

What about a pension? I have heard it is a matching 401K.

Thanks for your help.
