I believe I saw something on one here. As far as the gorge, you don't hit the ditch, you hit the jersey wall.
I heard there was a freight driver spun around facing the wrong way, right there in the rest are grass that night too. I guess that's the place to do it. I wonder if all these guys/gals that had mishaps will have some trouble comingYea you can hit the ditch in the gorge alright. It's just a real real deep one!
this poor driver had a harm less flip over,
I had a roll over.Stopped dead still. The road on my left trailer tandems caved in.I turned key off and got a good hold on anything bolted down.
I think I just spit my soda on the computer. I'd like to see your driving record if you consider rolling a truck "harmless"! Obviously shows you the one thing unions do is give too much job security!

he's in India, sounds likeThat's a far different scenario than what is being brought up. In the investigation my first question would be what were you doing on such an unstable road in the spring time? :-)
That is very easy to answer. At that time we was hauling over a dirt road. The Boss didn't even think about the road since we had used it for a few weeks. He just laughed an said::::happens.It was a private road. That's a far different scenario than what is being brought up. I hope your not freight,we have had this problem at natl. in cincy,(still do in this matter)with unproffesional drivers trying to be hero's or just affraid to stand up for themselves.Seems that fellers can't understand the ovious, fedex freight or past natl. does'nt pay you to shut down because they care about you only, they want you to shut down to protect you, equipment, freight and public.not to mention the least,it cost a whole lot less to pay a driver a few hours delay than to pull you at of the ditch.I caled in this morning an took a point,I'm sitting at home watching it snow,I'll let you heros move my freight.I'll wave as I pass you in the ditch tomorrow.maybe I have let the cat out of the bag,but that is what has keep me with such a good driveing record for 31 years now!
Drivers who call in just because its snowing outside should give up their CDL. Obviously your scared and unable to drive in varying conditions. At least come in hook up and pull out the gate.
are there really guys doing that?....Damn.. that's sadYou got that right , it sickens me to see how soft the new breed of drivers are now a days.
So quick to call in and start times to pushed up even at a lousy 2 or 3 inches.

my rule of thumb is this, snow... if it covers half of my side wall or less run at reduced speed i feel safe at, if to the rim or higher, park it. icy on flat ground reduce speed by 2/3s or more hilly, park it. i use this with anything i drive car pick up big truck. 2" snow for my car is 1/2 the side wall, 3.5" for the pick up and 4" is about 1/2 on my big truck.
That's a interesting rule....For me I just hook it up and get out the gate, I drive to conditions and when I deem them to bad I park it, but I have never made that decision in the termial parking lot.
