CF still had many of those when they closed. Tough tractor rode nice with a steering wheel from here to there. Loved to watch folks jump when firing them up with the air starters.

I drove a White 9000 like this for a contract carrier for A&P Grocery Stores. Loved these trucks.
Had a lot of friends that drove for C F out of Charl, we ran Fla together.
Poor guys could only run 55.
I liked the 9000, you could get both arms suntanned at the same time.

Roadway had some of those armored cars, they had a lot of problems with the heat and defrosters in them. You had to have a window open to close the doors.

I liked those as well as any truck we had, ours had great heaters.
The A C was beside driver's seat, 3406 Cats and mostly Cummins, 9 spd.
I never drove a truck with a better heater than the Louisville Ford.
You're making me feel old now.

The Louisvilles were good, the cabs were tight. The mid 70's White Road Boss were very good too. Defrosters were outstanding, melt the wiper blades.
Maislin bought Quinn around the time they bought Gateway. I think one of the last tractors I drove there was a Quinn unit.
Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Yellow buy Adley primarily to get Canadian rights?
My dad worked for Adley in Philadelphia and that is what I heard but I think it also helped Yellow get bigger in the New England States.

I liked the paint scheme on Quinn's tractors, the red and white with the green stripe plus the good looking logo. There were a lot of interesting paint schemes and logos back then
