Tell me where you are going to make all this money ?Trying to hang on with substandard wages and pay all the bills. Not sure if union dues fit in the mix.
This time the union did all the threatening while the company said nothing.

So what you’re championing is that you should be allowed to organize without a 50% +1 vote of the employees?I think the union of a trade should be throughout the whole industry of the trade. Perhaps right-to-work should be allowed...but they can't have it both ways...the way they do now, only in favor of the company or nonions. Just as they have a right to work at a place who went through the sham of an organizing process which is abusive and as lowlife as it gets with the unionbusters and decertifiers,.........we too should have a right and the benefits of a union wherever we work...and a majority vote should not be needed to do that anywhere. Something long these lines needs to happen to have an affect. As it stands we must rely on companies with investors who can move their money around anywhere to keep making money....yet if we want more we are stuck trying to keep a small amount of companies alive if we want to remain in existence.............this can not work....we need to have a presence in all companies of our trade.....and there should be a rate that union members get and vote on throughout our whole trade...not according to what company can afford....but a rate all companies must pay for our trade to our members.....and we could slow the whole industry with a strike...no matter what companies we dominate............somehow we cannot be limited by majority votes for union membership in a company is what I am saying......I surely don't know details....but I do know that something more fair and just must be thought up. This isn't working......the past few years have seen drives at FEDEX freight and XPO...and others....those guys who voted yes to the union could be with us somehow....and those who are nonoins can stay nonions......Doing it by company limits everybody......and we are forced to either vote yes because our companies can't afford us or vote no..and close the place. It doesn't work......and Hoffa should've come up with a different plan by now.
Something like that..no organizing...just join. Pay dues.get something in return(maybe healthcare, maybe a retirement plan...something)....build numbers throughout the whole trade....maybe if 51% freely join without a vote...contracts could be worked out with particular companies.come up with something...This is not working. Of course laws would have to change. The union busters and unionbusters-by-legislative-political-economic-authority have the game mastered........Big investors who need shipping can easily team with companies to destroy numbers if they want....Companies can tke ou huge numbers like CF did...switching to CCX.......banks can come and play with companies like was done here. Democrats or Republicans can manipulate usage of us(we are not and should not be their tools)So what you’re championing is that you should be allowed to organize without a 50% +1 vote of the employees?
Ok, I was uncertain due to the fact that 50% +1 has been the tenant of the labor movement since the beginning.Something like that..no organizing...just join. Pay dues..come up with something...This is not working.
You're probably correct on that.Ok, I was uncertain due to the fact that 50% +1 has been the tenant of the labor movement since the beginning.

I'm thinking that union numbers should come from individuals....not companies....We are controlled this way...The union should set the payrates...not the companies....and it can't be done like this...Has done nothing but fail since deregulation........If there was a time something like that could work it would be now with a driver shortage.
We should not have the burden of sinking a company by asking what we think we are worth......we should somehow be allowed everywhere without that majority vote. And get our rate if they need us..............a specialist/professional who is in demand does not worry about sinking companies or anybody by setting his rate...he gets it...ask a lawyer or doctor....Sometimes they lower it....but not for years in a contract.
I'm not a rocket scientist..I don't have some detailed plans...Just thoughts......Does anybody in their right mind who was raised in a union household or area think that this is working the way it should for American workers and especially unions? You'd have to be insane if you think it's working just how it should. It's a nice neat box we are in here...easy to control and easy to manipulate....just go thru the union organizing threads and see the nonsence the guys who want a union have to go thru...Disgusting....and that holds us all down..Union and nonunion.
Would something like this build or destroy us? I don't know....but I do know...that organizing and getting our numbers by company is not working. And it's a lousy way for a nations economy to treat people.
I’m sure you’ve made a point or two in there somewhere, but you gotta shorten up your post, my attention span is not that long. Peace.... and more beer please.Something like that..no organizing...just join. It was hard to read, I feel he's really upset. That doesn't diminish the fact that he's thinking about the situation.I’m sure you’ve made a point or two in there somewhere, but you gotta shorten up your post, my attention span is not that long. Peace.... and more beer please.
Not upset at all. Not happy about our Supplement going thru...but life goes on.Nothing new. Back to the grind. It was hard to read, I feel he's really upset. That doesn't diminish the fact that he's thinking about the situation.
I didn't vote no to the national..only the Supplement and you can see why in the New Penn thread. I know we can get nowhere with the national YRC deal. We can only hurt ourselves that way.It was hard to read, I feel he's really upset. That doesn't diminish the fact that he's thinking about the situation.
