Yeah, but that's at market price, right? I can go online and do that for $5.00, so I could save that. But you can buy it as a payroll deduction

Heck, what would it run them to let us buy it at a 15% discount? Or even options. Give us a few hundred/thousand options twice a year to buy at a certain price. It would give us incentive to stay and we'd build a nice egg. I'd take that over a huge raise anyday.
THAT is how you sell the idea. Show the powers that be how such a move can be a benefit to the Company. Not to mention it would bump the stock by creating the demand.
Once upon a time, when still AF, we did get a significant discount. We also got the stock at the lower price of plan start date vs end date. That, combined with the discount, made for a quite lucrative benefit.Yeah, but that's at market price, right? I can go online and do that for $5.00, so I could save that.

Need to rename this thread "The Pie in the sky dream thread". Stock options for drivers...good luck. Some tech companies offer stock, not sure if anyone in transportation does. As for putting your 401 K into fedex stock, remember Enron...
I'd love to see that. Just doubt we will. Not a stock option. It's the same ESPP we have now, but we can buy at a discount. And not just drivers, every employee.

Any stock investment has risk. Remember 10 years back when FedEx stock was $30? I don't own company stock, I prefer to spread my risk across broader indexes like the S&P 500. Has worked well for me.Never know. FedEx not matching is the reason I won't participate in the ESPP. If that stock takes a hit, only I lose. If FedEx matched 10-15% it wouldn't be a total loss, unless the stock died so I'd feel more comfortable with it.

I do not remember that lol, but I wasn't paying attention to the economy back then. I agree, I do the same. Why put all my eggs in one basket with FedEx? I'd rather put that money in an etf that has a history of performing well. A FedEx match would change my mind.
Hey, it looks like they are "streamlining and cutting costs", elsewhere. Perhaps to pay for a significant increase in hourly/mileage compensation?Sweet potatoes this thread is doomed. The waiting for raise news continues......
Well I guess Lube will disappear again.......AND FedEx will begin phasing out domestic partner and civil union partner health benefits, e
Yeah they are. They announced more runs being cut where I'm at.Hey, it looks like they are "streamlining and cutting costs", elsewhere. Perhaps to pay for a significant increase in hourly/mileage compensation?
The position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer will be eliminated upon M.T. 3's retirement, AND FedEx will begin phasing out domestic partner and civil union partner health benefits, except where Sate law mandates. Not just "Freight".
Seems the above savings should/could fund at least another five (maybe 10?) cents/hour "Enterprise" wide. Stay tuned. <insert sarcasm>
