With the severe shortage of workers currently why would anyone lose their job?
The company I work for has old Macks, Volvo, Freightliner and Petes. All equipped similar. The Petes cost the least. And they are nothing special
Yep, changes of operations are the same, just new faces on the board.
If you are fortunate enough to be high on the board to not be affected or the bottom men are laid off or starved.
I'm sure you've seen this in past years at PIE changes.

Dovetailed my location and we need to hire at least 30 and the number is growing by the week due to retirements and guys leaving for greener pastures. In the current freight environment and the shortage of drivers layoffs are not a concern.
Yes, but in the past we never experienced across the board driver shortages as widespread as today. Where did you ever see Teamster companies offering multi-thousands of dollars as sign on bonuses?
I was quite unimpressed when I had Pete's on occasion recently. I'll take a Volvo over a Pete any day.

Those stinky MBI boys down here in the south tend to prefer KWs, from what I've seen.
But yeah, trash freight aplenty is sure to be pulled by those in Yellow's service.
Never driven very many Petes or Volvos, longnose Freightshaker or Louisvilles are hard to beat for a freight truck.
The first generation Pete's were not good.... I have a 2021 at holland and I will tell you it is a very nice truck.
Everyone is different.... different choices..... I'm not a bitching about a nice new truck.... and for the record as I said different choices..... I never really liked the volvo's.
Freightliners are my next favorite.

We should start a tow business. Tow our old broken down junk and repo the new equipment. Like uncle Slayton says he knows they’re slackers and they’ll miss a payment and he’ll take them back.
The only thing the bottom men will have to worry about is working 6 days on the road board or working till midnight on the clean up shift...either way they will be making big bucks!
