Saving America's Pension Plans Is A Rare Chance For Bipartisan Accomplishment | Opinion

I'm not at all ashamed to say that I haven't even read the constitution or for that matter the bible. And to go even further I don't give 2 :::shit:::s about them. What I see is what I got. I've earned everything I've got. I've paid my dues and taxes. I answered the call and served my country in a needless war. I have the scars and agent orange illnesses to show for it.

Anything any of us post on the internet isn't gonna change a thing. You're not going to change my mind and I'm certainly not going to change yours. I read them but I very rarely post on political threads. I offered my opinions in this thread that is titled opinion. You called it jealousy and wasted posting. Maybe I feel that yours are the same because you can't change my mind.

Big government is what you refer to as god if there is such a thing. Nothing is gonna change that. Not you, Trump, Levin, Limbaugh, or FOX. I didn't want to make this political. I just referred to the fact that TB is mainly a right wing website from the owner on down. Some of those posters have a habit of ganging up and attacking those that don't march in lock step with them. You give likes to many of those posts. My intent was only to ask what makes those posts any less jealous or a waste than ours in this thread?
You’re part of the problem if you don’t know or care what is in the constitution! Good luck be uneducated!!!

How is my knowing the constitution going to change anything? I'm part of the problem you say? Which problem is that? The problem of failing pension funds? The problem of a $23 trillion debt? The problem of the growing health care and prescription drug crises? Yes I'm uneducated but how will my knowing the constitution change anything? Sure I can go to the polls and vote. How will that change anything? The game is rigged. That witch Rodham Clinton got 2.9 million more votes than Trump and fortunately still isn't the president. The people had spoken but the constitution was followed I guess.

Your post is complete evidence of my opinion that you post everything in a jealous manner. Move on....

Perhaps if you actually cared to read the Constitution (or the Bible, as you said you don't), you'd be less stressed....

No I'm not gonna move on. I'll continue to post my opinions in this thread on the Butch Lewis act. If I post in a jealous manner then so be it. Maybe you can recruit some of the constitutional scholars like Lewsir to come on here and pull the gang up routine.

Guess if you read the constitution you could answer your own question. You just made yourself look like an idiot. Keep going! It’s hilarious.

Th Constitution,...as written,....never provided for Social Security of Medicare either........Yet, I will bet the Proverbial dollars to Doughnuts,....that many Constitutional Scholars will take both the Social Security check....and the free Medicare.....

If my income drops to a certain level,...I'll take the free VA care, too......

I can hear guys claim that.....they Paid Into those funds.......But everyone knows that you'll get out far more than you paid in,....(..unless you die two years into SS...).....

The pension fund money was negotiated in lieu of wages deferred......nobody on pension is getting a "free " gift. Instead of higher wages,...we, as Teamsters, opted for larger pension payments.
And,....we, as Teamsters,.....did nothing wrong to warrant a.....theft of past wages, as I see it. Maybe some see that differently.......

Anyway,.....I hope that every Constitutional Scholar here .......makes a Stand on Moral Principles,.......once the Butch Lewis Act passes,......and refuses 30% of the restoration of their pension,...(...or whatever the Treasury Department had determined what was the "reasonable" cut percentage..)....

Don't forget to total up all that you've paid into SS and Medicare.......Once you've reached those totals,.....I would expect anyone standing on.....Constitutional Principles......to start refusing that money......

Otherwise, you're conflicting your Moral and fiscal convictions.......and "violating" Constitutional principles......

My interpretation of the Constitution,....is that we're all working together,....for the COMMON good......No "individual" accounts,......some get more,...some get less,.....but America moves forward......

A re-reading of my favorite philosopher.....Yehoshua Bin Yusef......and his Sermon on the Mount.......is about ten steps to the left of Bernie Sanders........and talks about how the....wealthy should take care of the....poor......

Socialist!

Please explain why anyone would refuse the money? That’s just stupid! Social security has been stolen from. Using Social Security tax to fund other agendas. The government passed laws to steal that money. What other agendas did our pension money go to? If ya got an answer please do tell.

https://www.ssa.gov/history/BudgetTreatment.html
This 1968 change grew out of the recommendations of a presidential commission appointed by President Johnson in 1967, and known as the President's Commission on Budget Concepts. The concern of this Commission was not specifically with the Social Security Trust Funds, but rather it was an effort to rationalize what the Commission viewed as a confusing budget presentation. At that time, the federal budget consisted of three separate and inconsistent sets of measures, and often budget debates became bogged-down in arguments over which of the three to use. As an illustration of the problem, the projected fiscal 1968 budget was either in deficit by $2.1 billion, $4.3 billion, or $8.1 billion, depending upon which measure one chose to use. Consequently, the Commission's central recommendation was for a single, unified, measure of the federal budget--a measure in which every function and activity of government was added together to assess the government's fiscal position.

So are you telling me that if I go and read the constitution I can effect changes to the problems I asked you about? Trump got 2.9 million less votes and won the presidency. He was gonna repeal and replace the ACA on day one. It was gonna be so easy. He was gonna build a wall that Mexico was gonna pay for. He was gonna lock her up. He was gonna he was gonna blah blah blah. The republicans had control of both houses and couldn't fulfill his promises. So how is my reading the constitution going to effect changes in government? The game is rigged The little people have no say.

Instead of answering my questions you link some article and say I'm an idiot. Enjoy the laugh but if I'm not mistaken you are in support of the Butch Lewis Act. jimmy says it's a bailout and is unconstitutional. I assume you have read the constitution so answer this idiots question. Do you consider the Butch Lewis Act to be unconstitutional and if so are you against it?

The reference to the constitution was your idiot reference to the electoral college and nothing more. education on the constitution should be mandatory! I would love my pension bailed out but I understand why 350 million other Americans would see that as bull crap. No one saved Enron workers or the ones in some of the other pension funds that have recently been cut. Why are u special?
As far as the ACA not getting repealed we can thank our dead senator McCain. May he burn in hell.

And you call me an idiot!!!!!!!!! He should "burn in hell" because he voted his conscience on the "skinny repeal" that was going back to the house anyway. Lindsey Graham and a couple of others spoke out against the bill before voting for it. He was only 1 vote and he should "burn in hell" for something that was gonna be so easy. How is that repeal and replace promise doing? I guess it isn't as easy as claimed. McCain's replacement should give Trump enough votes in the senate to get it passed now. What's the hold up? .................Does the constitution say anything about hell? Just asking.

Yes I called you an idiot! Still am. Read the constitution yourself. I’m not your babysitter.

Many will remember McCain as the incidental savior of the Affordable Care Act. His late-night thumbs-down vote halted his party’s most promising effort to overturn a major Democratic achievement — the signature achievement, in fact, of the Democrat who beat him to become president. It was a vote that earned him regular — and biting — admonishments from President Donald Trump.

And my idiot reference to the electoral college was meant to should that even if I had read the constitution my vote would mean nothing. I couldn't change anything anymore than those 2.9 million more citizens who voted for crooked Hillary

No one is forcing you to stay here. Move to a place that you think has a better government. Give me a heads up if you find one. I might go too.

Pinochio, your nose is growing. The Sermon is to instruct us personally to live as we wish to be treated. It had nothing to do with Government, or instructing us to vote for laws where we give Government authority to seize the property of others and redistribute it to those we like more. That’s Marxist/ Fabian Socialism- the complete opposite of of Christianity. Collectivism saves no one. Ceding our personal responsibility to Government saves no one.

Jesus said that Everyone is to personally Give their own personal Charity to the Poor. Not the Wealthy, not the Workers, not the Poor- but Everyone. Out of their own pocket, their own time, their own effort, their own actions. No one is exempt, no one gets credit for voting for government to do what is given to them personally, to do. What we do Sincerely is seen in heaven, as opposed to what we Say we do.

Where did you get the idea that I wanted to leave? I love my country. I'm 72 years old and far from in good health. Where else would I find better health care than right where I'm at? My concern is for younger generations. I was all for Trump's repeal and replace promise. As for the Butch Lewis Act being a bailout I'm all for it. 264 members in the house voted for it. I'm of the opinion that they would know much better than this idiot if it is unconstitutional or not. That 264 includes 29 republicans including Pete King of NY who I highly respect.

Most promising was only the "skinny repeal"? It wasn't going to fix the ACA. Since repeal and replace was going to be so easy why is it no longed an important issue? I know I can ask that question on the political forum and get bombarded with name calling. I rather get back to Butch Lewis Act and just deal with you calling me an idiot.
