FedEx Freight | Stealing from the company

moves trailers to a "safer" place to hook up and charges company TO per trailer plus hook.

That's against company policy in writing. Policy says

Tractor Only pay is not applicable for coupling/uncoupling a tractor to position equipment when the tractor movement is associated with a Hook, Drop, Triples Hook, or Triples Drop. Separate Tractor Only pay for coupling/uncoupling a tractor is only applicable, in accordance with the below, when the Tractor Only event is the complete assignment.

Thank you for that. Gonna print off and leave on OM's desk...... Is there one for delay on shuttle bids, and charging fuel for getting DEF?

In the unusual event that drivers must fuel a Temperature Controlled Trailer or add DEF separately from the time/location the tractor fueling takes place (e.g., no DEF is available at the fueling site), the driver must obtain prior approval from management or Central Dispatch.

SHUT (401-474 miles), & SHUT (400 miles or less), 2&2 with SHUT or HTRN – Drivers on these runs are not eligible for delay compensation, unless no productive work is assigned due to unavailability of work. Any available delay compensation will be paid following a 30-minute meal period (where the meal period can be taken at an appropriate time in accordance with the applicable Meal Periods and Breaks Policy).

... don't steal a dollar out of my beer money while I trusted you and went to take a leak thinking Smoke won't miss a $1 , maybe not but I now know your true colors and you can't be trusted because you think I did not know but I know for sure you will steal and are a thief .
Sorry Smoke, I didn't think you would miss it...next time I'm over I will give you your dollar back and buy you some Depends, so you don't have to leave and you can keep an eye on me....

I guess the bigger issue for FedEx is that over the years theft has been dealt with differently.

Case in point. 5+ years ago Nashville fired a driver for having ONE extra fuel entered.

Flash forward to now. Driver enters fuel task for putting in DEF, delay on a shuttle bid, moves trailers to a "safer" place to hook up and charges company TO per trailer plus hook.

Brags about making 120k+ on a 372 mile shuttle bid. Was told the driver was laughing on phone about not losing his job for doing the same thing they got in trouble for before...

Bottom line I'm documenting all the discrepancies in policy enforcement from now on, and if any friend of mine is targeted by management or myself they will have a recourse if terminated.
Wow, is he sleeping with management? This is crazy.

There will always be petty people at any workplace. They are the same people that couldn't walk past a pay phone without checking it for loose change. Its obvious that most of the policies here are to get rid of the drivers they just don't like. While I think stealing from the company is ghetto its hard for me to have any pity for it when they send someone on a 500+ mile run with a front side via and they come back with one of the same empties they left with.

I get where you are coming from but don’t over analyze it. Stealing is stealing.
FedEx pays us to bring trailers from point A to point B, loaded with 20k of hazmat or empty really makes no matter- you get paid either way.

Not even kidding but we once had a TM get fired for skimming from a private vending machine company in our breakroom . I never bought anything but many of the guys did . He got a Police escort to his car then we just got another jerk .
